My wife and I have just had the pleasure of a short stay here and we were both very impressed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. The meals were really excellent and the dining room is one of the best we have eaten in, the tables are well spaced and is beautifully decorated giving a lovely intimate atmosphere. Our room was a good size, well appointed with a quite lovely bathroom with wirlpool bath, incredible. The grounds are just beautifull with some fine walks where you can feel away from everything for a while. We will hve no problem with a return visit later in the year We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

My wife and I recently spent 3 days/2 nights at this wonderful hotel. The room was great, four poster bed, jacuzzi bath (problem with the filter on the second night), very peaceful aspect (waterfall rushing through the gardens at the back). Evening meals were exceptional value, the breakfast is to be recommended. The staff were very helpful and the owner Martin was keen to help when planning our days out. Overall a super experience which I would recommend to everyone.

Room Tip: The Mawwdach is worth paying a little extra for.

This is a very special place. You are looked after perfectly. No fuss just great hospitality. The Dolly is a magic hotel and the grounds and surrounding countryside are beautiful.
We look for waterfalls and this area has loads. Great walking country at your doorstep.
Food and accomodation top notch. The old hall is a really atmospheric place for the dining room. We'll be returning to see how Alan and his team have got on with their unearthing of the hotels history.

Room Tip: mawddach has dual aspect views and is very spacious

This hotel is an absolute gem. Myself and my husband actually got engaged at this hotel up at the black falls. We then returned in April for our honeymoon. Everything was perfect!! All the staff are amazing, very helful and so friendly. The chef (Martin) is a wonderful chef actually going out of his way to make meals that were not even on the menu for me!! Amazing!!! The room was spotlessly clean and very peaceful. Breakfast lovely and out very quickly after the order was taken. Grounds and area are beautiful and like being in another blissful world. And Alan, you were so helpful with day trip ideas and general info. We miss the Dolmelynllyn and want to get back there as soon as possible!!!! Thank you so much. Matthew and Demelza Merriman.

My partner and I stayed in April 2012. We had a Victorian-style room with a very modern shower room. It was clean and well decorated. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant. We topped the night off with the best hot chocolate we've ever had! Would highly recommend staying here. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent as well.

Heading to Wales to celebrate our anniversary, I chose this hotel as a base to show my partner the wonderful area I grew up in. I was not disappointed. The Hall is a stunning building packed with history, and Alan an engaging and very convivial host who recognised when guests felt chatty (that's us!) and when they preferred peace and quiet. The gardens and the location are simply beautiful and the updating of the hotel is being done sympathetically and is patently a real labour of love. The room (the Mawddach) was very clean and tidy, with a wonderfully comfortable four-poster bed, and the bathroom had an amazing shower/jacuzzi bath, which I did finally work out with Alan's help. As the hotel was very quiet, Alan showed me around some of the other bedrooms and I would happily stay in any of those too. We didn't have dinner, but the breakfasts were excellent, the staff friendly and very helpful, and Alan whisked our wet and muddy walking boots off to the drying room when we got down from the Rhinogs. If you're after minimalist modernity, this hotel is not for you, but if you want to stay somewhere warm, comfortable, friendly and out of the ordinary, then I can recommend Plas Dolmelynllyn. We're already planning our next trip back there.
