“Hearty Pub Grub”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

The Victoria is a welcoming pub in the village that serves very decent pub grub. If you are looking for a gourmet dinner, this is not the place, put if you a looking for a traditional pub meal you won't be disappointed.

“Husbands birthday”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

Been going to this pub for over 10 years and always visit while at shell island! Went for a meal on 27th may to be greeted by a rude women called Karen who got abrupt while ordering our food! The service went down hill from there! Spending over £150.00 in meal and drinks one of the children in our party spilt a drink and staff members walked past several times ignoring the spillage, I wiped it up myself with napkins and put the 'wet floor sign' there myself! Compliments to the chef as the food was lovely just found Staff extremily unwelcoming and will not be returning and spending money here again went back to Shell Island's tavern where staff are happy and attentive! Such a shame as Victoria was always a well rubbed family pub!

We wish we had found this place earlier during our 4 day stay in the area , the pub is very family friendly and is set in an idyllic location next to a small river , the interior was tastefully decorated and clean the staff were pleasant and helpful and all our party thought the food was superb especially their burger ! We will definitely be visting this place again on our next trip !

“Lovely pub serving great pub grub!”
Reviewed 15 May 2014 via mobile

We visited here on a number of nights whilst staying at a local campsite. The pub offers a cosy bar with a good selection of drinks including a variety of local real ales.
The menu is large and varied and there is a specials board which changes daily. The food is locally sourced and is of high quality and is served in very generous portions.Four of us dined each night and there was not a bad word to be said about anything!
