I've just returned from a two night stay at the Kings Head (family room with ensuite). I stayed on a two nights for the price of one (Sun-Thurs) offer which was very good value.and worked out to about £27 for the room. Overall the room was large, nicely decorated and included tea/coffee facilites and a widescreen tv. Unfortunately the double bed was a bit uncomfortable, a new mattress needed i think.
The close proximity of the restaurant/bar downstairs was very handy and menu was the standard Wetherspoons plus a few regional Welsh dishes. The pub seemed to be popular with locals, a nice atmosphere and no rowdiness, although it was a weeknight and might have been busier/noisier at the weekend.
The hotel is nicely situated for trips to the Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey. We even found a small vineyard (Parva vineyard) which offered wine tasting at its farm shop. Overall a good place to visit if you're looking to chill out and see some beautiful countryside.

The hotel room was of a high standard. Very good shower with lots of hot water. It was an excellent place to stay the night, reasonable priced and would stay here again. Breakfeast was good, and the bar staff were very friendly. HOWEVER I can't say the same for the receptionist when we arrived to book in. She was very frosty and there was no welcome to the hotel. They had been trouble the weekend before and the way she spoke to us, it was if we were going to behave the same!!. I felt this was not the way to be spoken to. I stay in many hotels and have never experience this before.
