Stayed for one night whilst walking the Offa’s Dyke Path.
This place is excellent value for money, right in the centre of town with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The room was a good size with plenty of space for bags, it also had tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer, the bathroom was spacious and despite being attached to a pub there was no noise disturbance.
Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for simple, affordable, comfortable accommodation in the area.

Nice little town. The kings head is a pretty building. Rooms are clean, the bed however was very uncomfortable and being a older building the plumbing is not quiet, even in the early hours!!!
Would advise not to have a room looking out onto the high street as very loud when the pub is closing.
Reception staff are pleasant and it is good value for money.

Stayed at this hotel on a Sunday. Good deal if you book online all rooms £30.00. Reception very good, lady very friendly front rooms a nice size very comfortable. Can be a bit rowdy at closing time but did not last long. As for food it is Wetherspoons style food, good prices. Right in the centre of town 5mins walk to car park no charge on Sunday.

Booked this room as not too far to travel as a romantic break...as expected room was cosy and met all requirements for the price we paid. The only downside was the noise from the extractor units out side our room (101) Parking is near by and not over priced YES we would stay again.... Thanks ............

Room Tip: Room 101 is at the back of the hotel but suffers from Extractor noise and early deliverys

We stayed here with friends & thought the rooms were spacious & comfortable although in need of renovation. The staff were very helpful both in the hotel & the restaurant& nothing seemed too much trouble for them.
We used the restaurant every evening as the food & drinks were excellent value for monet and of a very good standard. We really enjoyed the food on the "curry club" night and the "fish & chip club" night. For the later, we were a party of ten & the food arrived pretty much all at the same time, was of a generous size & cooked to perfection.
Although the pub was very busy on Friday night, the rooms were very quiet & we were not disturbed by any noise.

Stayed here on a wet, cold night but the welcome was warming and friendly. The rooms are clean, spacious and have everything you'd need for an overnight stay including free bottled water!

The whole building is huge and has been superbly restored - the ceilings in the main ( and huge ) bar are stunning. There are many smaller roms and a really varied local clientele.

The staff were all friendly, helpful and keeping themselves busy for the benefit of the customers.

Food and drink available at all times and all at very reasonable prices.

Overall, for the prices charged this is an absolute bargain of some quality too.

As with most of the Wetherspoon hotels the rooms are a good size and clean. You can always get food service up untill 10pm Parking can be a problem there is a public pay and display very close where you can pay the night before for the next morning so you can have a breakfast in the pub without rushing out. Breakfast is not included in the room rate but is available at a reasonable price in the pub

Room Tip: some of the rooms on the front can be a bit noisy at the weekend
