“GREAT B & B”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Old Hendre Farm provides spacious comfortable rooms with large ensuite. Valerie was a great hostess and is enthusiastic about the activities available in the Monmouth area and ais actively involved in expanding the business to cater for those with equestrian interests. Currently developing holiday lets specifically designed for families and also well designed for the disabled.

Overall, the B & B would rate as one of the best we have stayed at. Would recommend to those interested in walks and peaceful countryside

Room Tip: All good and spacious

Stayed here when walking the Offa's Dyke path with two friends and a dog. We received a very warm welcome for Valerie and made to feel at home at once. Very comfortable lounge and a neat bedroom with en suite. There had been some confusion over the booking for an evening meal by our trip organiser, so she drove us to a pub about 4 miles away where we could get a meal and then collected us later in the evening. A excellent breakfast set us up for the next day and our walk was sustained with a generous packed lunch. Highly recommended all round.

Room Tip: The blue room has a better view over countryside than the yellow room.

The host Val was incredibly friendly and helped us out when another local B&B let us down by incorrectly cancelling our booking. It's a lovely B&B, great breakfast, nice room and ensuite bathroom. Beautiful peaceful setting too. Would recommend if you are staying in this area.

A lovely farmhouse B&B right on the Offa's Dyke national trail. Very welcoming, comfy and well equipped. Gorgeous country views from the bedroom. Tasty full English breakfast and generous packed lunch for the walk. Also provided luggage transfer to next stop en route. Thoroughly recommended.

This was our fourth stay at Old Hendre Farm and was as good as ever. Valerie is the perfect hostess and cannot do enough for her guests, and is always available to offer advice about the surrounding area and its numerous attractions. We stayed in The Blue Room again, which overlooks rolling countryside and is equipped with every convenience for a very comfortable stay. Valerie's breakfasts (and friendly chats) are always a highlight of the day, and the food is always beautifully cooked and presented. Situated in a very peaceful location, although only about 4 miles from the attractive town of Monmouth, this is the ideal B&B, and one we intend to return to again. Many, many thanks. Very highly recommended.

we stayed at Old Hendre Farm while walking Offa's Dyke Path last month. We were exhausted, damp, and muddy when we arrived—a bit late, having had some trouble finding our way. Valerie welcomed us warmly with a pot of tea, and offered to launder our clothes—which she did. The decor is lovely, the hostess friendly, and the food tasty. Evening meal available for an extra charge.
