We have visited the restaurant at the Portmeirion Hotel for Sunday lunch 4 or 5 times now and have been delighted with both the quality of the food and the service. Our most recent visit was no exception. Our table was on the outer edge of the restaurant and had stunning views across the bay. We had roast beef but the lamb also looked excellent. The restaurant was incredibly busy with a large group celebrating a relatives birthday and a wedding party being prepared for later in the afternoon. Nevertheless the service was prompt without being rushed and we were made to feel that we had all afternoon if we wanted it!

This is definitely one of our favourite restaurants and reasonably priced too.

My wife and I made a special trip to experience afternoon tea at the hotel and felt totally let down by the service, lack of professionalism of the waiting staff and poor selection or should I say lack of food. Tables had not been cleared and the staff could not even tell us what was served as an afternoon tea and there was no menu to help them or us!

Another great meal in the Hotel restaurant with friends & family.
Starters (scallops & lobster) were very tasty, mains (lamb, always a great choice here & sea bass) both excellent, followed by 3 sweets (pannacotta, millionaire shortbread & a soufflé) ensured a well satisfied group of diners.
Presentation was slick & the New World Sauvignon complemented the meal perfectly.
Quibbles - every course we ordered attracted a supplementary charge (£9 for the lamb!). Come on guys, review the charging structure as your supplements are too high...nevertheless...
the view & quality of the food are both outstanding.

I'm a vegetarian on a low carb diet. They helped me out enormously without ever pulling a face. The food was good, with great effort for inventiveness, so full marks.

Half of the pleasure of eating at this restaurant is the fabulous view over the hotel grounds and estuary beyond. This was our second visit for Sunday lunch. Service was first class and food of a high standard, though the main course - we tried both roast beef and braised lamb - was less impressive than the starters. For the location the price is good value.
