“In serious need of a customer service rethink...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

I spend a lot of my time working from coffee shops around Britain (buying 3 or 4 large coffees, lunch and a couple of cakes over the few hours I spend in each one). I always ask when arriving whether it's ok for me to plug in a laptop. In every one of hundreds of cafes before today the answer has been a simple 'yes'. Not in Taro Deg: they insisted that I pay 50p per half hour for doing so (and sat me on a table right by the noisy doorway despite the whole cafe being empty). This is, it seems a cafe stuck in the '90s. It might be a nice place to pop into for lunch, but is certainly not a good place to work in. Two stars rather than one because the cake was rather good, but I'll certainly be finding somewhere different to work tomorrow.

Thank you for your review which we appreciate - as a cafe it is good to be told our cakes [which are all baked on the premises] are 'rather good'! As a business we appreciate that customers expect wifi to be available to them and this we provide free of charge despite having to pay for it ourselves. We also of course have to pay for heating, electiricity, staff, water, rent, rates etc - overheads which it seems you are able to avoid and consider it only fair that where an individual requests an electrical supply connection this should be charged for and not passed on to other customers in the price of food!
As for your comment on the position you were given I am afraid that this is the only location in the cafe that has an electrical supply connection - unless of course you were to hire our meeting room which can accommodate 'mobile office' needs!

“Great selection of lovely food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

We were driving through Pwllheli on a grey, rainy day, looking for somewhere to eat and spotted this place. It was very busy and we were lucky to get a table. Everything on the menu looked great, as well as all the specials. When my wife asked if the soup was spicy she was offered a sample to taste before she made up her mind. Everything we ate was very tasty, and the service was very friendly. We loved this place.

“Lovely place for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

Yet another gem in the Wonderful town of Pwllheli, had some lovely lunch with the wife, generous portions , you do have to order at the counter though, maybe a tad pricey but if you want fresh food with local ingredients the thats the price you pay.

Really nice lunch at this little cafe near the railway station, had a nice lunch, really good food. Overall it was pricey but worth paying for.
