My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, it was a special occasion and was made more so by the attention to detail and added surprise of a gorgeous home-baked birthday cake! The room was impeccably clean, bedding smelt beautifully clean and towels nice and fluffy (a rarity in hotels!) There was a microwave and fridge in the room along with kettle, tea and coffee. The DVD player was a nice addition as the Welsh weather can be unpredictable! The decor is tasteful and homely, the super king-size bed exactly that....super! The location is great for day trips out as there is much to do and with being in Snowdonia there are plenty of walks and mountain climbs. There are an abundance of leaflets in reception with ideas for interesting days out and local attractions. The husband and wife team who run the business are the friendliest and most welcoming hosts we have ever met whilst staying away, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food is absolutely out of this world, all local produce used and home cooked. The breakfast was both plentiful and cooked to perfection. We also dined in the restaurant, the selection of dishes was enough to cater to any taste and again cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. It was excellent value for money and we most definitely plan to return especially as pets can also stay by prior arrangment. Whether you are a mature couple, a family or young couple you are in for an affordable and delightful stay.

  • Liked — The cleanliness and welcoming hosts
  • Disliked — Aside from hotel there was only one pub within walking distance so driving out was necessary

Pleasant comfortable motel and ideal base for exploring Mid and North Wales. Very handy for Portmeirion.

Our experience - room was adequate and clean although the carpet smelt a bit. Run by a friendly young family. Nice dining room. Good full English breakfast. The owner - think Aled Jones with a hint of Basil Fawlty.

We stayed here to attend a wedding at Portmeirion and was really please with the decision. The location was gorgeous and just a short trip from the wedding! Accomodation was clean and comfortable and it was a great family run place to stay. A group of us (6) had a meal at the restaurant which was superb. The pictures on the website at the time made the place look a little dated so we were a bit apprehensive but it turned out to be an excellent choice!
