We maintain an interest in what's happening at Eric's because my son, a climber, who now lives in France, retains a huge affection for the place. So we were delighted today to find it open as we did our first bike ride of the year. Sat outside in the sunshine with coffee and cinnamon toast watching the climbers on the cliff to the right and admiring the odd motorbike that came in. Toilets are clean (well only the odd cobweb) and well equipped, the breakfasts coming out looked fresh and gorgeous - what's not to like. Ascertained they will be open through September and weekends through the winter.

We, through friends of ours, had heard a bit about this place and man but never been there.

We only pulled up to use the toilets, but felt that we had to have a drink & cake in a café with such a reputation.

I got chatting to one of the locals in the car park and felt welcomed before I even entered the place.

We stopped off on our travels in the afternoon, so the place was fairly quiet but Eric was actually there. He was talking to others clients about his exploits. It was nice to see that, although he’s a business man as well as a World Record Holder, he still found time to talk to his customers.

The Coffee tasted good and the cake was fresh and tasted home-made.

Although it was only a coffee stop, I must say that it was worth a review. The food and drinks were good, we felt welcomed and seeing Eric was a great bonus.

The images on the walls are worth a visit alone.

Called in for lunch while motorcycling round Snowdonia. Very warm welcome from the staff who advised me that the whole menu was available . I had good old sausage egg and chips with a mug if tea. All cooked from fresh, on the table within ten minutes. Very tasty although the sausies were not brilliant. Overall, a good cafe experience . Just me in one corner and the owner Eric in another. Awesome! Bikers welcome!
