“Lovely Cottage with harbour views”

First visit to Amlwch. Interesting place being the site of 18th century copper mining so quite a bit of history in the area. It is a quiet place with friendly people and we enjoyed a lovely freshly caught fish tea at the local pub.

The cottage is in a lovely position overlooking the harbour and the kitchen has great sea views.

As my friend and I took our dogs it was nice to find there was easy access to walks direct from the cottage, although if you want to take them on the beach you'll need to put them in the car. There is a large decking area at the front which would be ideal for children as it is enclosed.

The cottage itself is well equipped, particularly nice to find there were plenty of towels available as sometimes you only get one set for the week. The only down side was the internet service which was more off than on. This has been mentioned to the owner who is aware and is looking into it. It was a lovely relaxing holiday.

Have stayed here last year and we were looking forward to this stay.Beautiful well kept cottage wih all the amenities you could wish for and lovely and warm. Two TV's so no arguements.Very nice to meet Martin and Sue who look after the place, they live next door so on hand for any problems, which we had none.Lots of places to go around the island and suggest the Salt Company and the Sea Zoo.The only downside was the periodic lack of WiFi.

“Fantastic, warm and welcoming”
Reviewed 26 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Just got back from a short break staying at Pilots Cottage.
A wonderful comfortable and homely cottage with everything needed and more.
A fantastic base not only for exploring the delights of Almwch and surrounding area but also offers a great opportunity to enjoy the enviable views from the cottage, must admit when not out and about most of our time was spent in the kitchen enjoying the wonderful panoramic view across the harbour.
Will definitely booking a return visit.

“Homely, welcoming and characterful.”
Reviewed 18 February 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Pilots Cottage was a joy to visit and stay in. From the moment we walked in we felt home from home. The Christmas decorations set the scene and the electric 'log burner' (persist with the starting mechanism, which is not the easiest to light, but it's worth the effort) made us feel warm and welcome when we returned daily. It was spotlessly clean and gave the impression that it was a cherished home to the owner, rather than a holiday let. It has been modernised to a very high standard. The owner was a joy to communicate with and totally understanding when PayPal caused a hic up in the payment process. Highly recommended.

“Wonderful holiday”

We stayed at the cottage in July with various members of our family including my 8 month old grandson. The views from the property are fantastic and we had great weather, so visited several of the recommended beaches. The property itself is very comfortable and well equipped and there are various places to eat and drink within walking distance. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pilot's Cottage and hope to return soon.

“Room with a view!”
Reviewed 4 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed for a week in July with our children (3) and our dog. The cottage is wonderful, as others have said the standout is probably the kitchen with its massive semi-circular window with amazing views of the harbour. The lounge with exposed beams, fireplace and super-comfy sofa (that easily accommodated all 5 of us!) has a lovely cottagey feel to it. All 3 bedrooms (2 downstairs/one built upstairs) are a good size with good views as well. Could not fault the accommodation on offer here, the large enclosed decking area was also great for our chocolate lab. The owners were very helpful with all correspondence needed sent in good time. Amlwch port itself is fairly small but very nice but with a car there is lots to do nearby. Local beaches are really good at Bull Bay and Camaes, there are lots of nice coastal walks. We also went to Treaddur Bay and South Stack lighthouse. Beaumaris is only half an hour away with its castle, cruises to Puffin Island, Jail and Courthouse. We also visited Aber falls. A wonderful week away in a wonderful cottage. Would highly recommend

The cottage was clean and well equipped and comfortable and as we like walking it was ideal for the coastal path .The local Co op supermarket was good for provisions.
The copper kingdom near the harbour was very interesting place to see
tv reception was poor at times
