“Friendly, stylish, low-key luxury”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2013

My friend and I stayed for just a Sunday night as a treat for her birthday; have wanted to come to Churchbank for ages and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful comfortable spotless rooms in a gorgeous period house with nice antique furniture, one enormous with large bay window overlooking the church with the stunning snow-covered mountains of Snowdonia looming over the rooftops, with en-suite bathroom plus sweet tiny single room, perfect for child or extra adult; the other room spacious, beautiful, and wonderfully quiet at the back, very cosy with the dinkiest little period cupboard containing a surprise washbasin, and a good bathroom across the landing. Host Richard is lovely, friendly and unobtrusive, and we love his dog Bruce too! Fab tea and cake on arrival, perfect carefully-prepared breakfast, nothing was too much trouble. Combined with a great dinner in front of the fire in the Bull's brasserie, a long browse in the up-market shops, and a bracing walk on the beach, it was our perfect night away,; Churchbank is a great relaxed base to explore a lovely town and its surrounding area and I will certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: The Garden Room is lovely and quiet if you are not used to a bit of light traffic noise occasionally...

We had the front bedroom with the bay window overlooking the church, great character, en-suite shower/bath room, superb power shower. Richard seems to have considered every need, including fresh milk for our tea. Most comfortable bed ever. Superb cooked breakfast ... we opted for the "small breakfast" but still more than enough without feeling over-faced. Fresh cut fruit salad, local yoghurt, lovely fresh toasted bread.

Great B&B, great location and friendly host ... thanks for making our brief stay a pleasure.

PS: not sure how anyone could go as low as 4 stars ;) However, to be fair, that "poor" rating was a few months ago and may, perhaps, have been coloured by the other rooms which don't have quite the same wow factor.

Room Tip: Try to get the front bedroom with the bay window overlooking the church. I'm sure the others ar...

I lov this B&b and don't want to leave. Beautiful, best beds ever, great breakfast, power shower to die for, stylish decor, close to sea, church views, parking, friendly host and best of all a log fire to warm us at breakfast. Stayed here on my own and highly recommend to all ... Will be back!

Room Tip: Only 3 rooms - I had one with view of church at front which was nice to wake up to.

Couldn't fault this B&B in any way and would definitely recommend it to all of my friends and family for a very relaxing break away. For me the best thing about this B&B is that even though it is small (only three bedrooms I think) we felt we could come and go as we pleased and we weren't aware of the other guests or the owner. Saying that, If you needed anything like fresh milk for your tea or local knowledge, Richard was there and very accommodating. The B&B is spacious and has it's own car park and garden. It's also only a two minute walk into town and a stones throw from Beaumaris castle (this is worth a look). We booked the luxurious double room at the front of the house which was immaculately presented and over looked the church. I personally loved the country cottage decor and all of Richards little touches such as bundles of magazines next to a big comfy arm chair looking out through the bay window in the bedroom and the fresh towels, robes and big bottle of bubble bath in the bathroom made it feel like a home from home. Breakfast was also restaurant quality and beautifully presented. I especially liked the roaring fire and the bakery fresh bread. Nothing was too much trouble for Richard and I would encourage anyone to visit Beaumaris and Church bank for a totally chilled stay. Thank you

Room Tip: The luxury double with bay window but other room at the front of the house was just as nice just a s...
