We stayed at Cleifiog last weekend as we were in Beaumaris for a wedding. We arrived at 9.30pm on the Friday night and were greeted by Gill who welcomed us with a fresh pot of tea and coffee as she showed us around our stunning room. This bed and breakfast is by far the most wonderful I have stayed in. The rooms are immaculate and the place feels like a home from home.
There is everything you could possibly need there, from a sewing kit in the rooms, to beautiful White Company linen, towelled dressing gowns and wonderful toiletries. The views are stunning of the beach and you are right in the heart of Beaumaris and all the lovely shops, restaurants and pubs which it has to offer.
The bathroom is wonderful with the best shower I have ever had and the décor is elegant and homely.
One of the wonderful things about this bed and breakfast is the breakfast room layout. Breakfast is served around a round kitchen table which we really enjoyed as we had some great breakfast conversations with the other guests staying at Cleifiog. This was really sociable and to accompany this the food was delicious.
I cannot speak highly enough about this wonderful b&b and the welcome we received and I would not hesitate to go back or recommend this to friends.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Pattern room which was one of the three rooms, but I would imagine that they are al...

This was our second stay at Cleifiog and every bit as enjoyable as the first three years ago. Hostess Gill is most welcoming with a relaxed manner that is perfect for making you feel immediately at ease. On both occasions we stayed in the Pattern room, boasting outstanding views across the Menai Straits towards the Snowdon Mountain range, dramatic, come rain or shine. It is furnished simply but with a style that elegantly suits the buildings historic vernacular. Great biscuits too. After each restful nights sleep breakfast was always a fun affair with good food and plentiful discussion, chats ranging from gestating black birds, Bob Dylan, the local Beating of the Bounds and of course weather; plus much more.
Have no doubts about recommending Cleifiog as the place to stay on Anglesey. Look forward to visiting again, thanks Gill.

A charming house with an interesting history and lovely rooms, run by the equally-charming Gill. Many places do the basics well, but the top-notch ones are where the attention to detail means all the "small stuff" is thought of and perfectly delivered -- Cleifiog is indeed in the top-notch category.Excellent location on fringe of Beaumaris (parking usually OK and in a fairly quiet location despite being on the main road in from Menai Bridge Town) with superb views over the Menai Straits to Snowdonia (particularly from the "Tapestry" bedroom we occupied);only a 5-10 min walk into the town.Breakfast excellent and cooked to order;enjoyed at an "en famille" table which encourages guests to join in conversation -- two couples [one from London and one from Kansas] ensured interesting chat over breakfast during our 3-night stay,to the extent that we had to tear ourselves away to get going with our daily plans! We have no hesitation in recommending Cleifiog and hope to return there for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Only 3 bedrooms,so limited choice -- the "Tapestry" room was spacious, comfortable and had...

I stayed in Cleifiog in May 2014 and found it to be a wonderful place. Gill and her husband gave me a very warm welcome. My room was stunning, with a beautiful view over the water and mountains, and the en-suite bathroom was bigger than one of our bedrooms at home. There is a lovely sitting room available for guests, again with the goregous views, and a fire for the cooler evenings. Each day a flask of fresh milk is there for you to take to your room where you can make drinks and enjoy the yummy biscuits left. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and the breakfasts are wonderful - fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cooked breakfast, croisants and toast; and Gill was very obliging in doing an early breakfast when I had to leave by 7.15am on the last day. It is situated 2 minutes walk from the main part of the village. I cannot praise it highly enough. Wonderful!

My boyfriend and I stayed here 28th Feb-2nd March and couldn't have found a nicer place to spend our time. We arrived on the 28th to a little note welcoming us and tea/coffee, biscuits and milk in the room which was perfect after a long drive. Our room was the one at the back of the property which overlooks a little garden and has lots of quirky features (such as a curved ceiling!). The room was a really good size, and the bed was so comfy it was very difficult to wake up! Decent amount of wardrobe/cupboard space, with the bathroom also being a good size with bath/shower combo. I would say that I don't think the photos on the website do the rooms justice, they all have a really nice feel and are finished off so perfectly.

Breakfast was lovely, offered a full cooked breakfast (eggs were v tasty) with toast, cereal and fruit available in the dining room also. Fresh milk was provided in the afternoon for the rooms which was a nice touch.

Guests have access to a lovely living room; with comfy sofas, sea views, wood panelling and a fire this was another perfect room. Papers were provided each day for guests to read and there were plenty of magazines around to peruse.

We didn't meet the owner Gill, but the lady looking after us (Maggie) was a star, and we were made to feel very welcome and at home.

Can't wait to stay again!

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely but the ones at the front overlook the Menai Straits so would have amazing view...

We stayed in Cleifiog over New Year, our third time of staying in this magnificent B&B. The large, wood panelled, beautifully decorated rooms are fully equipped with all modern amenities with two of the three rooms having an uninterrupted views over the Menai Straights. The beds are luxurious and breakfast is all that you would want!
Gill and Laurie (the owners) are wonderful hosts who makes sure that your stay is one that will remain in your memories forever!
