I spent a fantastic weekend at Hen Gamdda Fawr cottage with my husband and two children (aged 5 and 7). The picturesque cottage has a really nice ambience with its oak beams and cosy log burning stove. The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped and clean, and the high quality bedding and towels were appreciated. My mum joined us for one night and we utilised the sofa bed which was ideal. It was nice to sit outside in the sunshine and the gravel front garden provided a great area for the kids to play.
The cottage was an excellent base for us as we played on the beach at Benllech and Red Wharf Bay Sailing Club which is 5 minutes drive away and 5-10 minutes drive to Moelfre to visit the lifeboat station and Red Wharf Bay for lovely coastal walks and some nice pubs and eateries. We went out on walks from the cottage too and experienced the lovely countryside.
The best part of the holiday was spending time in the cottage relaxing with my family. The least enjoyable aspect was having to leave to get back to work as we could have done with staying a few more days but we are already planning to go back to stay at the cottage again as we had a lovely time.
