“Superb Sunday afternoon Sunday lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2012

When you arrive at tre-Ysgawen Hall Hotel you are greeted most elegantly and taken through to the apperatif lounge. You are presented with your meal menu's and given time to relax. The tall ceilings and surroundings with piano playing makes the whole experience!. the starter meals are very nice and the wine selection is super(although McGuigans black label would compliment the list! and challenge the Brown Brothers Everton Range...for Price and flavour..usually £12 on average on the island). The Sunday lunch is fabulous and I would recommend the Welsh Beef, The vegatable sides are very nice and you can order more portions at no extra cost if you are still hungry.. The sweets they looked absolutely and delicious... at £18.95 per person it was excellent value for money! Dress up if you can because jeans look very much out of place but excepted. We will be booking on our next visit with our family. Thank you for a great afternoon out.. (Please re-think about adding coffee's in the library at no extra charge as this would make the occassion).

Room Tip: We did not stay overnight.

Many thanks for your review and all the kind comments. I just wanted to comment on one point. Tea and coffee can normally be taken in the lounge. Due to it being so busy on that particular day we had to unfortunately take that option away to accommodate the amount of guests we had dining. I do hope you will visit us again for a superb Sunday Lunch :)

Charming country hotel in a lovely part of the counrty. The spa is clean and the breakfast was gernerous in proportion with good quality food. We had a lovely relaxing stay. We visited Snowdonia on the Sunday and it is a beautiful part of the world.

Stayed in Nov 2011 on our way to the port for Dublin. Enjoyed reading the history of the hotel. The evening bar/restaurant staff was brilliant. The breakfast room staff and front of house were not as good. Don't really like hearing the staff catching up on what they did the night before and not being very attentive.
Decent size swimming pool and jacuzi.
Although the hotel is a little dated and a touch of 'elegant shabby', the grounds were impressive and you can revel in the thoughts of what it must have been like in it's heyday.

This hotel had the wow factor It was full of charm, The staff were polite and very helpful. The hotel and pool area were spotlessly clean. We had an evening meal which was excellent and as we were there mid week we were told the meal had been prepared by the commis chef so well done to him
As our stay was mid week it was nice and quiet and relaxing We would certainly recommend this hotel

We spent one night here (28th Feb) via a non-weekend DB&B deal with Travelzoo. We would have liked to have stayed longer. Everything about our stay was excellent.

The hotel is easy to find on the road between Llangefni and Capel Coch. Satnav took us directly there. Plenty of parking in front of the hotel. Very efficient check in and a friendly greeting. They asked us to wait a few minutes in the lounge while they checked that the room was ready. In fact it was the opportunity for them to put a bottle of Prosecco on ice in our room (included in the deal). A nice start.

We stayed in room 19 in the original part of the hall. A huge, huge room with a very high ceiling and a very large bed. Flat screen TV, tea/ coffee facilities, trouser press & hairdryer. A handy desk with 2 bottles of water and some fruit. Plenty of storage space. Reasonably size bathroom with bath/shower. High quality Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. The room inevitably has an old fashoined feel to it, but it is in perfect keeping with this type of country house hotel. The room was twice the size of many chain hotels and full of character.

Good canapes with our pre dinner drink in the bar. Dinner was superb. We both had pheasant breast for starter - very nice, and duck breast for main - superb, with a beautiful duck liver bonbon. Nice desserts and local cheeses. A sensible wine list with prices from £16. We had a full bodied Portugese red at £23 - went perfectly with our game. Excellent and calm service throughout. The dinner tables are large and padded, with high quality Villeroy & Boch bone china, large wine glasses, Sheffield silver cutlery and quality tablecloths and napkins complimented the meal - all first class. We slept wonderfully.

The high quality continued at breakfast. Lots of choice. Good coffee. We had the full English - it was faultless.

The staff were very attentive throughout. When we asked about the free wifi, a lady brought a printout of the code to our room - good service.

This is a lovely country house hotel in Anglesey with plenty of places to visit nearby. We walked along Beaumaris promanade in the sunshine and had a pint at the Ship Inn overlooking Red Wharf Bay, with the Welsh mountains as a backdrop.

We did not have time to use the leisure facilities, but Barb had a good look around and was very impressed.

The hotel oozes old style quality. Mahogany and oak, tapesties and oil painings - a perfect country house retreat. We liked it a lot - the only downside?? - it was only for one night!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the old part of the house and make sure you have dinner at the hotel.

We have stayed here on a number of occasions usually for birthdays/weddings/family occasions which have been held here and always found this hotel to be excellent value. The surroundings are truly beautiful, and the Hall itself is a very handsome building.

Rooms are spacious and clean, bathrooms huge with plenty of products to make the most of a lovely long soak! The Spa is a tranquil haven and the Clock Tower Bistro perfect for a light lunch after a morning at the Spa!

More formal evening dining is always a pleasurable experience and the food is delicious and varied. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced.

Staff are always on hand and friendly, polite and knowlegable.

All in all an exceptional hotel to which it's never a chore to return!
