Recently attended a wedding reception at the hotel, the day itself was enjoyable as it was a family wedding. Staff at the hotel were mainly very friendly and attentive and the location for a function is superb. Signage within the building is poor and many older people were going up and down narrow staircases trying to find a bar or the reception room.
The meal was short on quantity and had less quality than one might have expected considering the cost. Vegetables were in short supply on most tables and the chicken main course came with a smidgen of sauce/gravy, why not bring gravy boats to the table?
The evening disco was good and the hog roast was very succulent and plentiful, such a shame it was served up in a small room where everyone had to queue in a very narrow passage to get both in and out.
The bars were very small and the drink prices were extortionate, the staff worked hard in cramped conditions to serve the large number of guests in the evening in particular.
Generally it appeared that the hotel desperately needs better management as it lacked the cohesion of the top class venue it reckons to be. There are better hotels on the island that are run to a much higher standard.More
