“Excellent B&B”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

We had a super stay at this lovely B&B in Menai Bridge last September (am playing Trip Advisor catch up!). It is in a great location really easy to find and within comfortable walking distance of the town centre and the all the great pubs and restaurants. Our room was beautiful - really fantastic bathroom, just the most comfy bed and everything was spotless and really well appointed; in short a perfect base for exploring Anglesey. Elaine is a wonderful hostess, nothing is too much trouble and she really looks after all the small details to make sure you feel at home and leave wanting to come back (incl. a lovely box of chocs!) We would certainly not hesitate to recommend!

We love this B and B!!
My dad stays here often when he comes to visit me in Menai Bridge, or when he's on a DIY trip. Elaine makes you feel at home and very comfortable. The rooms are lovely and large. Great location for the menai bridge high street and walking down to the Straits. I tend to meet my Dad for breakfast in the mornings and it's never been any trouble for another breakfast to show up in front of me. Recommend to all!

One night stay inc breakfast, booked a four poster room, superb house, welcoming owners, fantastic room with everything you need and added extras! Ensuite, newly refurbished (loved the power shower!) tasty breakfast.
I wore high heels to go out to the village for a meal & drinks, struggled to walk down the steep drive (but this was my fault!)
Had a fantastic experience would defiantly stay again. Well worth it.

Two rooms for two guests. Exceptionally clean and tidy rooms. Large country style house. Each day rooms were cleaned and tidied. Flat screen TV, large comfortable beds and tasteful decor throughout the rooms. Bathroom's were kept exceptionally clean and it put some 5 star hotels to shame. The owner and staff could not do enough for you for you and they provided for a homely, relaxed atmosphere. Unlike the rest of the reviews there wasn't enough power in the water to fill the large shower head but it really didn't worry me much! The rest was just perfect. We had breakfast each morning, again good attentive service, lovely dining room too. Eggs cooked to your preference, more coffee as required etc. The icing on the cake would have been to have baker style uncut bread, instead of packet style sliced bread. (small preference). I would definitely recommend. But also be aware that payment by card is not an option. Having to take cash out to your daily limit needs planning if you are on holiday. But If I stayed in Menai I would definitely stay here.

Room Tip: Both 1 and 2 were excellent, both large beds but 2 was exceptionally large.

Big bedroom with lovely furniture and comfy beds. Chocies and biscuits along with tea and coffee in room. Large bathroom with brilliant shower. Delicious breakfast. Bryn Aethwy is in an excellent location for visiting Snowdonia and just half an hour from Holywell ferry to Dublin. Elaine is a wonderful hostess.

If you want a break with a WOW factor then this is it.

The property is a stunning Victorian Mansion with huge rooms very tastefully decorated with very expensive décor. A very comfortable bed and the best jet spray power shower I have ever experienced.

Crystal cut drinking glasses in the bedroom, lovely furniture very spacious all round and a quality box of chocolates all add to those little finishing touches to make your stay extra special.

Elaine the hostess is very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. She has a lovely home which is more than just a simple B & B. The décor is very tasteful with many single pieces of beautiful artefacts that are absolute one offs and very desirable.

Breakfast is a choice of fresh fruit, cereals, and an excellent cooked breakfast with superb very rich eggs.

You have your own private entrance and the residents 'quarters' are well away from the family part of the house so very private and you have plenty of space and you don't feel like you are intruding on a families living area.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Bryn Aethwy and as regular visitors to the Anglesey this will be our first choice from now on.

Whilst perhaps it was a touch more expensive than others in the area, it is well worth the little extra for such quality and comfort.

If you want luxury and comfort then look no further, you have found it!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front overlooking the Menai Straits, a little more expensive but worth it...

Beautiful location. We were made very welcome considering we had no reservations. Everything about the stay was wonderful. We wish could have stayed an extra night. The breakfast was outstanding. Plenty to eat and drink, just delishious. Gracious hostess. If we are ever in the area agiain, I will be making reservations. Thank you for taking us in. It was very memorable.
