Just had fantastic weekend here to celebrate my wedding. I cant praise the staff enough for working so hard to make my day so special. The food was fantastic to think they were catering for almost 100 people. And what a fabulous location. Thanks xx

It was the day of Wales vs. England in the Six Nations Cup, so there were some concerns as to the potential noise level generated by exuberant or downcast fans. There were indeed quite a few such fans at the Hotel but there was nothing about the atmosphere to cause concern.

Arrival at the allocated room was a very pleasant surprise, for it was warm, comfortably appointed, spotlessly clean and happily unpretentious and uncontaminated by plastic and glitz. The bed was extremely comfortable, the tea-making facilities were more than adequate and the views in both directions were very pleasant. The breakfast was leisurely and enjoyable and there was no pressure whatsoever to vacate the dining room.

Television reception was not of the highest quality, resulting in quite severe pixelation of the screen image and quite obvious distortion of the sound, but the hotel cannot be reproached for that.

The only minor downside was the rather noisy door below the room, which would benefit from being made quieter in its operation.

The staff were both friendly and efficient and the overall impression was of a family-run hotel that belonged in a bygone era, which simply made it all the more enjoyable. We would have no hesitation in returning for one or two nights.

Room Tip: I have no intention of giving my impression of which is the best room, for purely selfish reasons ;-). We occupied a double en-suite room.

Touch of old world charm but lacks sophistication. Room tidy but no soundproofing makes hotel and room very noisy. Free Wi-Fi advertised but only available at some spots on ground floor due to poor signal strength. Staff friendly and helpful.

We were relocated to Victoria Hotel by booking.com because our choosen hotel was overbooked. The first impressions were not good. We had to wait for the reception lady to finished her call because there was only one book. The room was very small, tired with old carpets and during our stay it has not been hoovered at all, although the towels were changed every day. They charge £5.00 extra for the dog for extra cleaning, but again it has not been done. Apart from that the bed was very confortable, the shower was good and the breakfast was very taste, although there was no baked beans, unless you ask for it.We had dinner as well and the food was absolutelly delicious. The staff were very friendly.

Room Tip: If possible ask for a room with a balconiy, ours was at the front, without a balconiy but from others reviews look like the roms at the Back are the best

We booked 2 rooms in the hotel for 1 night (B&B) as part of a Birthday celebration.
The rooms were clean, functional, and had an added bonus of a view over the Straits.
The bathroom looked as if it had recently been renovated, with a shower cubicle rather than the 'shower over the bath'.
Although there was a Wedding Reception on at the time the staff were friendly and polite.

Breakfast was served to you at your table, apart from tea/coffee/fruit juices/cereals which were obtained on a self service basis.
The Welsh Breakfast was very enjoyable, although there were no baked beans.
Maybe they only appear in the English version!.
The service was very good
Although I would have preferred a pot of tea/coffee served to the table.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the Hotel, or you could find yourself in the annexe. The Hotel has a lot of character, and a friendly ambience to it. If possible a view of the Menai Straits,as a bobus
