“Enjoyable Weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

Excellent location with a couple of minutes walk into the village and access to all the amenities. The beach is a short stroll and the lake is on the doorstep. The views from the property are beautiful with lots of good walks accessible from the property. The house is spacious with lots of charm and is very clean and well cared for. Our bedroom had a wonderful view of the sea and sand dunes lovely to wake up to every morning.. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and our hosts did all they could to make our stay enjoyable and made my husband and I feel very welcome.

We booked cefn dref for our first family holiday with our little 4month old baby.
We needed a room with ample space for our travel cot and we booked the Snowdon suite which had fantastic views of the lake and lots of space to move around even with the cot set up
Gill and Derek were extremely friendly, and made us feel very welcome.
Breakfast was to a very high standard with plenty of choice (smoked salmon, full English, fruit, cereals, omelette etc)
The location is fantastic also with the oyster catcher restaurant walking distance and the other pubs and restaurants in rhosneignr a short walking distance. We recommend oyster catcher and the thai restaurant ( above the pub)
We will definitely be visiting cefn dref on our next visit to Anglesey

Sensation B& B in prime location on Maelog Lake.
An Edwardian Villa that has been lovingly restored, we had the Maelog Suite which was superb.
Gill and Derek are excellent hosts and the breakfast is out of this world.
We'll be back in September!

Room Tip: The Maelog Suite is self contained and has 2 bedrooms.

My husband, our baby boy and I stayed in Cefn Dref for 3 nights.
The house is beautiful, very close to the restaurants and the beach. Our room was really big and even with the baby cot we had plenty of space to walk around. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. It really feels like you're in your country home.
But the best about our stay was the breakfast. Incredible. So much choice, every morning we had bread, cereals, fruit salad, a fried English breakfast and some attentions from the owners like berries one day, homemade fruit yogurt another day etc. The breakfast room is really lovely too.
Finally the owners are really nice people. It has to be the best B&B in Rhosneigr!

My partner and I stayed for a well needed weekend break in October. We were met by both Derek and Gill, who were very friendly yet left you to get on with your own things.
The house is lovely and in a good position with a huge drive for plenty of off road parking.
We had a superb breakfast each morning (well done Gill!) with plenty of choice and ample tea and coffee.
The room was comfy and clean with a lovely cosy fire which was a nice touch. We had tea and coffee making facilities and we even had hot chocolate :-) we had a little fridge with cold water and plenty of space for wine!
Derek and Gill are lovely, friendly people who make you feel very welcome in their home. Overall we had a lovely stay and we would definitely go back.

Another pleasant surprise (which we still can't believe) Derek and Gill are originally from the same area as my partner and I. Who'd have guessed! What a small world!

Carla and Chris.

Like most of the other reviews for Cefn Dref we add our thanks to Derek and Gillian for making us feel at home. The rooms are excellent and the breakfasts very tasty and filling, they could not do enough for us and we will definitely be going back (if there is any availability) as this place gets booked up quickly. Easy to find and central for sight seeing. Pity they don't do evening meals as the nearby Oyster Catcher was not a good experience for eating! Overall 9/10 and worth every penny. Cleanliness was V good and the rooms were modern and well presented.
TV reception is not good but you can't have everything. Good luck with the renovation.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet, you will have a good night's sleep,

Derek and Gillian made Mark and I very welcome, they are very friendly. The imposing building is in a wonderful position close to the Lake on one side and the sea on the other, what more could you ask for.
The rooms are tasteful, the bed in our 'Blue Room' was squidgy and comfortable, with fridge for the white wine and olives very useful, good tea and coffee facilities too. Wonderful breakfast. Would love to return and try out The Suite.
