“If you don't mind a slighty dirty and freezing pool.......”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Stayed here for four days in a Kingsland Bungalow - the bungalow itself was clean and spacious and well equipped.

The pool - dear me! - changing room?? should read cupboard - not fit for purpose - dirty dirty dried out foot bath which thank God I was wearing flipflops to "walk through" and boy oh boy was it cold!!! my teenage daughter came in and after less than 4 minutes was out again - she said it was dirty and there were "floats of dirt" heading towards her - that was the last we saw of her in the pool - I stayed with my other daughter but it was cold.

We only went to the bar area to join in the quiz which we enjoyed but I have to say the "patrons" at the bar looked more like locals than holidaymakers so I don't think the term "for holidaymakers only" could be applied - the security of the site is ...... none - anyone can wander or drive in around the bungalows and not be challenged.

Would we go again? difficult to say - the location is excellent, wouldn't swim again that's for sure and would make sure to book a Kingsland bungalow.

Wasn't very happy to see it was "pet friendly" as my two daughters are afraid of dogs and yes, you've guessed it we had a big huge dog in the next bungalow so my two had no intention of going outside the door to be face to face with a dog - the "terrace" at the back of the bungalow was anything but private!!

Room Tip: Look to book a Kingsland Bungalow - oh and by the way the other bungalow may have had dogs in them.

Thank you for airing your concerns. We did have a problem with the pool last weekend being cloudy for a couple of days. This problem has now been rectified. The pool is normally a constant 82 degrees, to deal with the problem we had to backwash a few times and this involved topping the pool up with cold water. The changing rooms are small because we are only allowed 20 bathers at once.

Security - we have never needed security because we are in a rural location. We do have some CCTV in operation.

We do advertise the site as a pet friendly site. Pet owners are required to keep dogs under control and on a lead.

I have just returned from a weeks stay in a dyffren bungalow with my children and parents. I found this accommodation average but pricey !! Frankly for £600 per wk id expect more. Plus points are location, outdoor grassed area for children, arcade and bar area. Downsides are lack of cleanliness, dated and poorly maintained bungalows, cold swimming pool with tiny changing areas and no lifeguards, lack of staff input, poor children's play area which is desperate for a makeover. We also had a broken cooker top and toilet seat. Also another issue is security as there is access to another caravan site behind. Overall I was slightly disappointed and it wouldn't be somewhere id consider again. Shame though as if the owners spent a little time and money on it. It could be a good business.

Great location, absolutely love Angelsey but as soon as we opened the door to the bungalow all we could smell was wet dog!! Everything had to be cleaned, the cupboards cooking utensils plates etc, the pool area is small with dysfunctional changing area, could not swing a cat in it , pool looked like it could do with a good scrub down, not sure how often water testing takes place but was very cloudy for an indoor pool. If your not bothered about cleanliness in these bungalows then for it !!

I'd read the other reviews of this place prior to booking about the lack of cleanliness but I thought surely it can't be that bad! Well sadly I do have echo the comments of others. Cleanliness was poor. We had to wash everything prior to use, everything just felt scummy, dusty & unhygienic. Not good with a 10 month baby around! We booked a kingsland as these are meant to be a higher spec. However they are nothing special. All fixtures & fittings need updating as they are tired & some held together with cellotape! Privacy is minimal if u want to sit outside at picnic table ( which was falling apart) as you are virtually sat on top of your neighbours! The 'heated' swimming pool was freezing! Again it felt dirty, sand everywhere, broken toys floating around. The changing rooms are tiny & not fit for purpose. The best thing about these bungalows is the location. Walking distance to the beach. Apart from that I feel they offer very little, especially for the price which isn't exactly cheap! The bungalows are more like chalets. Great area but highly doubt we would stay here again :-(

Arrived home from staying in a Dyffryn bungalow at Trearddur bay. We went back to this holiday park after enjoying a stay in a Kingsland bungalow last year. Very diappointed with the Dyffryn after our stay in the Kingsland. Unable to park outside this bungalow. Cleanliness was something to be desired. There was sand around the skirting boards unless this was something to do with the ants! Accidentallly left some food on the worktop one night and found it swarming with ants the next morning and after getting rid of them still found the odd ones during the rest of the holiday. The shower had no force to it so I would only call it adequate at a pinch. If you can't get out at night but want to watch the television then all you have is a postabe stamp sized television. On the positive side we only needed to put £2 in the meter which covered cooking on the dilapidated electric cooker. Would only go back to this park if we could rent a Kingsland which were unavailable at the time of our booking this year.

Room Tip: make sure you can park outside so that you don't have to carry all your self catering stuff and...

We booked a week at Trearrdur Holiday Bungalows with our two young children for a short family break. The accommodation is pretty basic but clean, tidy and fantastic to use as a base for touring such a wonderful island. We booked a Cybi, which had ample space for our needs and those of a 2 year old to run around! The kitchen area had adequate pots and pans for preparing meals, a clean oven and a washing machine. Electricity was by coin meter but £5 lasted our stay with more left on the meter! The only negative was the lack of an adequate children's play area, although to be honest when the weather was nice, the benches outside the chalet provided a comfortable area to sit whilst the youngsters played on the grass.
