Stayed here while walking/hiking the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. Stayed in a single room that was layed out well and a nice big bathroom. Shower was nice and hot which was important as I walked/hiked in rain all afternoon. The supper and breakfast meals were great.

We stayed here for one night when attending a local event. The staff were extremely helpful and one stayed late to check our friends in when they arrived much later than planned.

Our rooms were large, clean and pleasant. There were plenty of plug sockets, drink making facilities and a TV. The bed was comfortable and it was generally pretty good - much better than we expected for the price we paid. The only thing that let it down marginally was that the heating was off and it was a damp October evening. Although the weather was mild, the rooms were distinctly chilly (friends staying in the hotel said the same of theirs). Fortunately I noticed this when we got back to the hotel and turned our heating on for an hour or so while we went to the bar, but the friends that arrived late didn't get chance.

We were up and off early on the Sunday morning so didn't get chance to have breakfast as this didn't start until 7.30am.

I'd stay there again when in the area.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights on a KGB deal. We stayed in Room 3 which was a well presented and comfortable room near the car park at the front of the building. We chose this hotel as it was quite central in Anglesey and gave us plenty of opportunity to explore the rest of the island.
The staff were very welcoming, they were helpful and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. We were left alone during our meals but the food was brought out fairly quickly. The food was lovely. We had a three course meal and a bottle of wine (included in the deal) and a cooked breakfast every morning. We decided to eat there on the other two nights as the food was great. There was a lot of choice on the menu and the portions were big and I could not eat desserts as I had no room left! We had Lasagne, Soups, Pate, Chilli, Curry all of which were really nice. The Steak and Ale pie was fantastic. The tables were cleared promptly and we were not pushed into eating there if we didnt want to. We were treated exactly the same as full fee paying guests (I have had poor experience of elsewhere). The prices in the bar were reasonable and there was some entertainment on, pub quiz etc.
The room was clean and comfortable, as was the bed. I usually find it difficult to sleep away from home but I had no problems here at all. There were no problems with noise or being too hot or cold. We has tea making facilities, Sky TV and ample storage space. The shower was powerful and the towels were changed everyday. The cleaning staff were very flexible and would come back later in the day if we were not quite ready for them.
The location of the hotel was just on the main road into Valley and was really easy to find.
I have read some of the other more negative reviews and find it difficult to believe this is the same hotel. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. The service, room, food and location were great. I agree that the outside looks like it needs a lick of paint, but it is on a main road and the passing traffic is probably the reason why is looks a bit dowdy. There are some lovely gardens in the back of the hotel and plenty of parking too. Going to this hotel was a great experience and I would definitly go again, whether full price or on another deal.

Room Tip: Room 3 was a bright quiet room on the front.

My mother and I chose the Valley Hotel largely for its location -- close to the Holyhead ferry terminal, which meant that our first trip with the rental car after a long day travelling was short and easy. We stayed there for the first two nights and the final night of our 10-day stay in Wales and, as it turned out, the hotel itself was a good choice for much more than its location. The rooms were comfortable, and the food in the downstairs restaurant and bar was delicious and affordable. The staff, both at the front desk and in the restaurant, were friendly and, at breakfast, very helpful with both suggestions and directions. I'd be happy to stay at the Valley again.

From the outside it's nothing special, but once inside the staff make you feel very welcome and seem a happy group. We went on a KGB deal and it was very very reasonable. Our expectations were not high but we were pleasantly surprised by our room No 3 and particularly our evening meals in the restaurant which on the deal was a 3course (good choice) with a bottle of house wine per couple. I have to say it was very very nice with plenty of everything on each course. Also,it was very clean with proper napkins not the paper type. We would go again, maybe not to stay over but the 3course menu for £15 was fantastic so go and try it. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Room 3 was a great choice for us but room 1 was fine too as friends were in that room.

My wife and I had a two night bed, breakfast with evening meal and a bottle of wine through KGB deals.
Breakfast and evening meal was well presented and acceptable.
The staff that we met were very helpful and pleasant. We stayed on the first floor at the back of the building overlooking the car park, our room was large but rather dark, due to the small windows. The whole building was clean with bright decor, but some parts of the hotel were old and tired.
Beautiful secluded beaches and walks in the area, very quiet.
A trip to rhoscolyn bay on holy island is well worthwhile and not far away, on your return you will pass the white eagle hotel, drop in for a drink and chat with the barman, ask about the owners!
For someone looking for a very quiet relaxing break this is the place for you.
Very good value for money.

Room Tip: A room in the newer building would be preferable.
