“Perfect retreat”
Reviewed 11 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Excellent stay the cottage was to a very high standard, with no expense spared to the finish of the cottage. Catherine was a great host we had a nice collection of teas and coffees, and some lovely tasty cake that Catherine had baked. The directions to the cottage are very clear and easy to find. The nearest town of Ruthin is very historical and a lovely castle to walk around, whilst we was walking round the castle we was greeted by four peacocks, what a pretty sight. If you are into mountain biking there are several lakes about fourteen miles from the cottage which my husband and I did, amazing cenerey well worth exploring. The cottage is so quiet and peaceful and the back garden you have a array of blue tits and squirrels perfect retreat.

“Look no further!”
Reviewed 2 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This apartment, a conversion of part of the main house, is beautiful, comfortable, spotlessly clean and has high end finishes you'll be surprised at. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen etc extremely well equipped with everything you need. WiFi works really well and you have a smart tv in both the bedroom and the living area. The private garden and patio area are delightful too. Little welcoming touches such as tea, coffee and a few staples to get you started as well as some of Catherine's home made cake. Delicious! Top all this off with a warm and friendly welcome, a most helpful host and all set in the most beautiful Welsh countryside. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended and I'm already booked in again for next year.

“Forest Retreat”
Reviewed 2 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Beautifully appointed cottage next to the main guesthouse so owner on hand for any guidance. None was needed though as everything had been thought of in the way of facilities and utensils from the fabulous Smart TV to tablets for the dishwasher. The décor is superb - glistening granite surfaces and underfloor heating for the slate floorcovering downstairs. Gorgeous secluded garden for eating outside, BBQ and nature watching whilst listening to the nearby steam.

Nothing was too much trouble for our host, Catherine, who out up a very comfy Z bed in the dressing area for separate sleeping. The bedroom itself has a double bed in the loft area with its own TV.

A former studio, the light entering the cottage makes for a bright space and the surrounding landscaping is a perfect balance.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, chilled and a peaceful ambiance pervades everywhere. The downstairs power shower was a delight!

The Forest is on the doorstep and Ruthin town is a short drive away.

We'll be back.
