“Great location, friendly staff, quality breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2013

This place is halfway between the railway station and the sea. The air is fresh and salty - and the beach itself was great for sunbathing, swimming and going for a run.

The family who runs the guest house is very friendly and helpful. We wanted to stay for another night, but unfortunately they were fully booked. They did help us in locating another town to visit and a place to stay for the next night.

The room itself was of high standard and the breakfast was great! It was a nice touch to have fresh flowers on the table and fresh fruit available.

We have just had a wonderful long weekend - we were made very welcome, lovely comfortable clean room, fantastic breakfast and a great welcome by Paula, Shaun and family. The Guest House is in a perfect position a few minutes walk from the sea and very near the Park and Putting Green. There is a lot to do in the area including a Steam Train which we would recommend. We will certainly be visiting Monfa again, it appeals to all ages and would be perfect for walkers, couples and families.

Room Tip: We were in room 6 on the top floor with sea and mountain views but all the rooms seemed to be very c...

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a fantastic break. The owners were super, very welcoming and provided great facilities including biscuits in the room :). They were able to advise us on places to see and eat and made us what ever we wanted for breakfast - including vegetarian sausages. The room was clean and tidy with lovely views of the sea and mountains with a super comfy memory foam bed. We had parking right outside the B&B and only a short walk to the sea front. We would highly recommend this place. Thank you to Paula and Shaun for a lovely weekend. We hope to stay again in the near future.

I stayed here for a short break recently and was made very welcome. Shaun, Paula and family are really friendly and keen to help in any way they can.The room was very comfortable and had everything you could need, comfortable beds and was lovely and clean. Mine included a view of the sea and hills to the South. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice. Monfa is ideally located just a short walk to the main line station, (I travelled by train), the sea front and the Talyllyn railway station which offers great trips up the valley to the waterfalls and forests on its narrow gauge steam trains. One of the many things to do in the local area. I look forward to a return visit.

We stayed at Monfa for a night recently when we spent the weekend driving up the coast of Wales. We would loved to have stayed longer! Paula and Shaun were super friendly and provided helpful tips as to places to see and things to do in the area. The rooms are very nice and comfortable with everything you could need (including biscuits and tea in your room). The wind was quite fierce when we were there, but we were tucked in warmly and comfortably in our room. Our room had a view of the mountains, but just a very short walk to the end of the street was the bay, which we managed to catch at sunset as we first arrived. The views were completely spectacular. The full English breakfast was tops and kept us going all day long. A lot of great conversation with Paula & Shaun made our visit complete. We look forward to coming back again when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy more of the area and what Tywyn has to offer. Cheers, Rachel & Bryan
