Here are the lowlights:
Damp room
No heating
Broken toilet, shower and fittings
Cheap bread, tea, etc. for breakfast

Oh and a disco right below the room from 8 til after midnight.

The highlights:
Having 10 pounds taken off the 60 pound bill
Leaving the place

Four of us stayed for one night in the Castle Hotel, booking four single rooms. We were given a friendly welcome and handed four sets of keys. Two of the rooms had single beds and two had doubles. Some of the small ensuites had baths. My room had a single bed and a tiny shower...but it ran hot water which was lovely. The taps in the sink were 'press' taps as opposed to turning a handle, it made filling the sink (or even the kettle) an onerous task! The bed and towels were clean but the room was generally very tired. The Saniflo system in the bathrooms were very noisy, which is probably my biggest criticism of the hotel as the walls are very thin. The noise from the bar below carried on until 1.22am - so, if you are staying here and not joining in with the festivities in the bar probably best to bring some ear plugs if you want to get a good nights sleep. The general consensus for breakfast was just OK. Having said all of that at £30 a night including breakfast it was not bad value.

Room Tip: Room 9 on second floor was the best room

I stayed for one night only. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room basic, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was superb!! The free WiFI was very welcome as there were only a few channels on the T.V. I don't know why but even all the Freeview channels were not there.
The only downside was the noise until 0030 from the bar and the street outside. However, this is a pub so some noise is to be expected.

There was a sock on the floor in my room and loose change in my bedside table and a rip in my bed sheet, also mold on my wall and the tv was about the size of my phone. The staff we're friendly though and breakfast was good.

A one night stay on the road to elsewhere.

This is a small hotel on the main street in Lampeter, although it’s a very quiet main street and we were not disturbed by any noise. The bar was lively in the evening but we did not eat there, having made other arrangements.

The room was basic but clean and we had a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was good and substantial, served by the landlord’s wife who was very friendly and chatty.

This is not a luxury place nor does it pretend to be. It is a good place to sleep at a reasonable price.

Friendly service, nothing was too much trouble.
Did not eat here, but smelt good! Enjoyed an evening drink in the bar.
The room we had was ensuite and it was basic, but comfortable. It had everything you needed, but would welcome an update.
