“Great place to stay in Pembrokeshire”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

We were looking for place to stay to visit Skomer Island and homed in on St David's after searching on Tripadvisor. I'm pleased to say that the highly positive reviews were not misleading. This is a lovely spacious house (formerly the manse of the neighbouring church) with nicely tended gardens. Our ground-floor room (the 'Manorbier') had a large double bed, plenty of storage space (increasingly rare these days), a small side room with tea-making facilities (and biscuits) and a spacious shower room. There was plenty of choice for breakfast (I wish we could have eaten more!) and the hosts were very welcoming. I can't say that Haverfordwest is much to get excited about but this is a very handy location for all parts of the Pembs coast.

we are glad you had a comfortable stay and enjoyed St David's guest house ,we always say if we can offer a comfortable nights sleep and a great breakfast we are definitely on the right track.
Good point about Haverfordwest but with our local reopening as a restaurant /pub and Marstons Restaurant opening in October we have high hopes. We feel Haverfordwest is very central for everything in Pembs and we are pleased you agree. Many thanks for a great review.

Stayed here last night with a colleague and I'm so pleased he introduced me to this stunning house. So so welcoming, spotlessly clean, friendly is understated. I am so pleased that I have to stay here for business - if I didn't I would have to make an excuse to make the 6 hour plus drive from home!! I am very much looking forward to my next visit!!

This B&B will cause you to reset your standards of excellence for this kind of accommodation. The setting is great; the spaciousness, decor and furnishings of the rooms and shared areas is unequalled in our experience and Estelle and Colin are charming and helpful hosts for whom nothing seems too much trouble. We could not have wished for a more satisfying stay and at a very reasonable price.
The Guest Kitchen was greatly appreciated as we arrived on a Sunday, not the best time to eat out in the evening. In fact from Sunday to Thursday nights the choice of dining in Haverfordwest within walking distance if the B&B is more or less limited to pub grub and the usual Indian/Chinese.

Room Tip: They are all good.

Happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and our guest facilities worked well for you. Good point about the restaurant's in Haverfordwest ,we have had 3 or 4 good ones close recently and are still hoping for new ones to pop up. Our local Pub should be reopened soon and with a full restaurant and separate bar , so we are hoping for good things. Many thanks for a great rewiew.

...and an excellent breakfast each morning. Our suite on the ground floor provided a sleep inducing bedroom, a spacious dressing room and a wonderful wet bathroom with underfloor heating. Estelle and Colin are ideal hosts and their guest house is warm, welcoming and furnished in keeping with its architecture. Highly recommended.

There is nothing to ask for that is not provided by Estelle and Colin in this extremely comfortable house. From the friendly welcome to the help over forgotten items they are great hosts and the breakfast cannot be faulted. Our bed was comfortable and the wetroom/shower room with underfloor heating (Manorbier) was as luxurious as that in a 5* hotel. A peaceful haven away from the traffic. I would like an excuse to stay here again.

Room Tip: We did not see the others but Manorbier on the ground floor left nothing to be desired.

A gorgeous house full of character. Beautiful, comfortable big rooms. Everything done with care and good taste: the sort of accommodation you dream about when you book a B&B in the UK! We had a lovely stay whilst visiting our granddaughter's wedding (in the next-door lovely old church). Estelle and Colin are making their guests feel very special and welcome. Last but not least: the breakfast was outstanding. We 100% recommend this Guesthouse to anybody who is looking for a refined, pleasant and quiet top accommodation in a good central spot in Pembrokeshire.

Room Tip: We stayed in the "Picton" but I am sure all rooms are outstanding.

I don't know where to begin as I was so overwhelmed by my stay here. From the moment I walked through the door to the morning I left ,I honestly couldn't have asked for more.Estelle & Colin are exceptionally friendly & caring people & the happiness & comfort of their guests comes before anything. At a traumatic time for me when my husband had been admitted to hospital following an accident at the beach, this couple was supportive, comforting & genuinely concerned.
The guest house itself, although close to all the amenities is tucked away in a lovely private setting. It is full of character, homely & spotlessly clean. It smells lovely & there is a wonderful ethos about the place. It offers peace & security & seems to attract interesting & friendly guests.
The breakfasts are delicious & cater for all needs AND they are served with smile.
Would DEFINITELY visit again.I cannot praise it enough.

Room Tip: I was in Chepstow, a twin room & it was lovely.Bathroom was a perfect size & bed extremely c...
