Agree with previous posts that the place may need an upgrade but the location is absolutely fantastic. Makes for a great lunchtime stop on a coast path walk ( which is what we do regularly). Service is a little slow sometimes but friendly and anyway - you are here to chill out after all. Food is always very good and the menu is quite diverse and constantly chnaged. Have previously had dinner here too and all the above applies. If you want a friendly, relaxed location with wonderful views and you enjoy walking to boot - this is for you.

Room Tip: Sit outside on a fine day and just enjoy!!

This is an artisan / bohemian style of hotel, with informal staff, 'shabby chic' furniture and art on the wall. For me, this works, but I also understand that for more demanding people this might be seen as too disorganised, laid back, and perhaps a little too 'shabby'. It very much has an old farmhouse feel.

First, and foremost, the view. The only hotel I have visited that had a comparable vista was a Park Hyatt in Carmel, California, for around ten times the cost. The view is stunning and the beautiful beach is a ten minute walk away. There are also walks leading from the hotel in both directions around the coast.

Next, the accommodation. We stayed in the 'Carpenter's Cottage' which was lovely, well stocked and clean. The furniture etc. was dated and felt very much like staying with a hippy friend, but again, I like this. The bar, restaurant and hotel are interesting and old.

The food was also great. I had, or tasted, ribs (not meaty enough for my liking, but good), the steak (very pricey, a little tough, but well flavoured), the mackerel salad (beautiful mackerel and the best potato salad I've had), a vegetable strudel (astoundingly flavoursome), sticky toffee pudding (very good), chocolate terrine (average), seafood paella (very good) and a Spanish lamb stew (most excellent).

The service, operationally, wasn't up to scratch. People were often waiting for a long time and when food came, servers often didn't know what people were eating. We were twice asked 'what else did you order?'. When coming through the hotel, I often saw customers waiting for staff who were (understandably) busy elsewhere. Still, people were friendly, and that goes a long way to make up for it.

So, all in all, there is a range of things from the location (excellent) through to the operations (average-poor). But, my good, that view in the sunshine should keep even the hardest of hearts happy, even for those prices.

We stayed this June at Shortlands Farm in our caravan, which is about 500 metres away, and used Druidstone as our local (wonderful Guinness). An unexpected treat was a Breton Feast the day after we arrived, which was Buffet style sumptuous feast. Good fun!
We also shared a starter for lunch one day and decided we would treat ourselves, on our last night, to meal in the restaurant. The snag was our dog Tess, who is an aging mongrel that can't be left. So I asked at Reception what could we do? The young lady was charming at said it wouldn't be a problem. Our choice was to eat in the bar or in the restaurant with a slightly more expensive and extensive Menu. What the heck I says "We''ll go for the restaurant" So we rolled up at 7.30 and to our absolute amazement and delight we were shown into OUR OWN DINING ROOM - WITH A SEA VIEW! As well as this the table was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and herbs. It really was an amazing sight with the sun shining over the sea as a backdrop.
The food was excellent too; superbly cooked and presented. The service was so friendly and Tess was provided with her own bowl of water.
So all I want to say is a big thank you to Druidstone. We will be back!

Stopped here for lunch and drinks. V atmospheric pub, shabby but great. V friendly staff. Good beer, good value bar meals. Fabulous views sitting out on cliff. Came back to watch the sunset go down - not disappointed
Great spot to start or finish a walk on the Pembrokeshire Coastal path.

We last visited in Aug 2013 as a couple and knew straight away it would suit our party of 8 humans and 8 dogs walking some of the magic of Pembroke over 4 days. Without exception the many staff that we came across were - again - really helpful and cheerful despite the requests for early [0815] breakfasts. We dined in on 2 nights and the food and wine were notably excellent and reasonably priced. The dining room had had a makeover with new windows visible everywhere as was the fresh colour scheme. I now have 6 even better friends so thank you Druidstone!

Room Tip: Room 2 overlooking the beach was just ideal

Perched about 100m above the billiard-table smooth beach, the Druidstone Hotel is a wonderful retreat and has a very varied menu and throughout the year has 'special' evenings with themed dishes... Indian, Thai, European etc. This great rambling place is completely 'dog friendly' - the in-house Jack Russell called Dash is eccentric and friendly to all visiting dogs and people. They have an amazing 'New Years' Eve party every year which is 'buffet style' so you just go and help yourself to gammon, turkey, beef etc whilst listening to live music to dance in the New year. Walls are festooned with local paintings, the downstairs bar leads out to a patio area with truly outstanding views across the bay and the sea ahead. Service may be a bit slow sometimes but that is the pace of Pembrokeshire and everyone is very friendly. There is even a 'secret garden' area behind the rustic stone walls. This is valhalah in this wonderful part of the UK coastline. In fact, National Geograpghical frated the Pembroke Coast Walk in the top three in the world. You should not be disappointed with this place - the location, the choices of food and drink make up for any perceived shortfall in service which I quite rare in my experience.

Room Tip: Get a sea view - its amazing and tranquil
