“Farmhouse B & B with a difference, warm and friendly atmosphere”
Reviewed 7 October 2010

Stayed here for one night whilst meeting friends nearby. Had annex room which was ideal as we didn't disturb the other guests when we got in after midnight. Had a fridge and an entrance cloakroom of our own which would be ideal for walkers and their boots! Very friendly service, felt very homely and relaxed. Breakfast was all local produce and tasted fresh and wholesome. Strongly recommend.

Vist Nesta and Bill and be assured of a warm Welsh welcome, we stayed with them August bank holiday 2010,The rooms are nice and cosey and very clean the breakfasts are great with Nestas little additions. I would not hastate in recommending the Lower Haythog Farm to any one. They surley deserve the 5 stars they have been awarded.Spend sometime there so much to see so much to do you wont be dissapointed.

We stayed and had a lovely time, very high standard of furnishings in bedroom, very clean too. Lovely breakfast with a surprise dish each day, and fresh fruit, as well as traditional 'cooked'. Found it quiet considering it is on a working farm. Near loads of things to see and do, so car an essential. We will be back.

We stayed over prior to getting the ferry to Ireland. Fishguard is only 20 mins away. It is a good location to explore the area, we went to St Davids and other places on the coast.

The accomodation was quite nice and it was clean. We had two rooms, the children had an en suite but we didn't. However, the bathroom was close and also clean.

Nesta and Bill were friendly and helpful. The TV picture became poor after 10-30ish, we did wonder if a booster box somewhere had been switched off.

it is on a working farm and so you get all the smells and noises associated with this, but we found it quaint.

This accommodation is pretty much on the same site as The Paddocks which is run by Nestas daughter in law. she was also very helpful when we were looking for somewhere to stay.

its been a while since we visited lower haythog, but i can remember the quality vivilidly. we were in the cottage, which was cosy and rustic, a real gem. nesta, bill and their daughter in law especially were welcoming. their is a lovely little lounge and dining room which is peaceful and warm. the food is lovely, though i was 10 and was only getting sausage and chips, i would have liked to have tried the other dishes, the breakfasts were great too. they were presented like they were a work of art. your on a farm, so i think one of review's comment about the overpowering smell is a bit silly, what do expect with a farm? . the animals are great. tinky-winky is the most soppiest and friendly dog ever! and we even got to feed the lambs! what a treat! . its was my sister's birthday and when we left. there was a card stuck to the door, its was a birthday for my sister from the whole family! how thoughtful is that!

certainly this is the place to stay.

We visited the farm for a one night stay and found the room to be sufficient, with a nice en-suite.

The room was clean and the owners were frendly and accommodating, with breakfast exactly what we were after

The one issue was the noise, not from the animals (!!) but in the morning from other guests/kitchen etc. as the sound carries around the building.

Happy overall.

Stayed here for one night. Nesta and Bill, the hosts, are very friendly and welcoming. We arrived early (midday) but were shown to our room which was a twin bedded room with the bathroom across the hall. Tea/coffee facilities plus toiletries were provided in the room, besides a tv and hairdryer. We were made to feel very much at home.
My negative comments would be that firstly the bedroom did not feel particularly clean. In fact, there were a lot of hairs on the bedspread. The bathroom was ok. Breakfast is served in the dining room, where, upon looking out of the window, I noticed a lot of old cobwebs. The breakfast was ample but there was a piece of mould on my toast, which made me question the hygiene.
Also, I live on a farm, but I found the smell of silage and manure from the milking parlour (which is located right behind the farmhouse) quite overpowering. I must add that the weather was quite hot which would add to the problem.
My last comment is that the farmhouse is in the middle of nowhere and so guests would definitely need a car in order to access all the local beaches, walks and other attractions. We did not eat an evening meal at the farmhouse, so cannot make any comment but a car would be needed to go out and eat in the evening.
