“Perfect place to get away from it all and chill”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2010

As someone who was a Pembrokeshire exile I never knew this gem was hidden on the upper reaches of the Cleddau estuary!! Its in a fantastic location with peace and tranquility the order of the day ( and night). I took my wife for a surprise weekend to get away and have some quality time to ourselves - and what quality. Lovely room, great service, superb food and good value - bed breakfast and dinner for 2 cost less than room only in some so called 5 star hotels in Cardiff . To see the river at 7.30 in the morning with sun shining and mist rising from the water was a sight I'll never forget.

Set in a lovely location the hotel has well-appointed bedrooms and an attractive restaurant. However there is nowhere central to meet i.e. a lounge. It feels like a lot of apartments rather than a hotel.
Service was very poor, particularly in the restaurant, but also generally. Room telephone did not work throughout stay despite reporting this twice. Water lukewarm one evening. No milk, teaspoon in room although there were tea making facilities.
This is an expensive place without the services one would expect for this price.
Poor value for money

When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to the "Honeymoon Suite" (it is their policy to upgrade whenever space is available) and what a truly fabulous room it was - certainly one of the best we have stayed in - only wish we could have stayed longer to make the most of it.

The setting of Slebech is absolutely fantastic and if the weather had been kinder it would have been the icing on the cake! Staff were very friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

The food was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast.

The only downside for us was that the dining room was cold - both for the evening meal and for breakfast although for the evening meal we were moved to a table near the fire which helped.
