“Fine ales, attentive service”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

This is a very nice place, with an outdoor area commanding a great view over the bay. The food ranges from "okay" (sandwiches, chillies, grilled cod) to "excellent" (BBQ ribs), they have a fine selection of local ales (Double Dragon is always on tab, plus two more local ales, which change from time to time), plus the usual assortment of mainstream lager, cider and - surprisingly - Guiness.
The inn has a very friendly and helpful staff, and in general, it has a nice, family-friendly atmosphere in it, relaxed and well run. There is plenty of parking available. As it tends to get busy Thursday to Saturday, booking a table at leak times is a good idea. Definitely worth a visit.

“Big group well catered for”
Reviewed 4 July 2013

We literally descended on the poor owners of this establishment with some large groups this week. The standard cheesy chips and burgers washed down with local ale went down very well with our tired walkers (who also took advantage of the garden to sleep). The owners were really welcoming and dealt very well with the sudden custom and the reviews from the Monday groups meant we went back Tuesday and Wednesday on request. It's a bit of shame it is so far from the beach but given the steep nature of the town hardly surprising. Well worth the walk up the hill for watering if you are on the coastal path....

“ok food, great dessert and beer”
Reviewed 3 July 2013 via mobile

We've eaten here twice - once for lunch, once for dinner. The chili con carne was quite good and was perfect for the cold and windy weather. For dinner, we got the cod covered with cheese, though it was quite a bit of cheese. We also got the garlic chicken - also a bit too kuch sauce and some of the garlic pieces should have been a bit smaller. The chips were great, so was the grilled tomato. Dessert was absolutely fantastic and the ales and ciders were great too. Staff is super friendly. Prices are ok.

“Poor”
Reviewed 29 June 2013

Bad points - awful food with zero presentation and very over priced. Table and chairs (stools on some tables) look like something from an 80's sitcom. Good points - friendly staff and stunning view.
