“A wonderful warm welcome”
Reviewed 5 March 2018 for a stay in January 2018

We stayed at Ty Mortimer for New Year 2017-18. On arrival we were made to feel so very welcome by our lovely host, Eleri. As we were staying over new year, she'd even popped a bottle of fizz in the fridge for us to enjoy! The cottage was beautiful - cosy, warm with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The cottage is surrounded by breathtaking coastline and fantastic walks - we spotted seals and an otter too. We also walked into St Davids a couple of times and it took less than half an hour so well within reach if you want to enjoy one of the many friendly local pubs. Ty Mortimer felt like a real home from home and we'd thoroughly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet retreat and to explore the area around St Davids. If you go for New Year, make sure you pack your swimming costume and head down to Whitesands bay for the cobweb obliterating New Year's Day swim!

Thank you so much for your very kind review. You were braver than I to go swimming on New Years Day. The coastal walks are amazing throughout the year. My apologies for not replying sooner but we have started lambing and life is very hectic but also rewarding seeing lambs with their mothers. Kind regards, Eleri

“Fantastic Stay”
Reviewed 22 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We did a short stay at Ty Mortimer , Friday to Sunday during a stormy weekend in October. The cottage is so cozy and an ideal location to explore both St David’s and the peninsula. Perfect location to enjoy the many walks along the magnificent coast.
The accommodation is 5 star and you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. Thank you to Eleri, Rob and their son for the warm hospitality and making this such a very enjoyable stay.

The location ist delightful! Stand on the hill behind the farm and you can see wonderful sunsets with the sea all around. We watched the seals and porpoises by day and the meteors by night. Hope to return soon!

“Ideal getaway for walkers”
Reviewed 12 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Excellent location to get away from it all. Great cottage, all the amenities you would expect and it really felt like home.
It's on a proper working farm, about 10 minutes drive from St Davids, and about 15 minutes walk from the coast path. Loads of walks in the area and some beautiful little bays, check out PorthClais.
It's lovely and quiet, very clean and comfortable, and Eleri even stopped to give us a lift when it was raining one day... We had a great time. Thanks Eleri & Rob

“Home from home”
Reviewed 23 February 2017 for a stay in October 2016

It's taken a while to write this but we stayed there for a very calm week a few months ago. It was the perfect spot for walks to the cliffs and beaches. The hosts made sure we had everything we needed. A minor problem with a tap - unforeseeable and out of their control - was dealt with quickly. Will hopefully return.

“Delightful holiday cottage with character and spectacular views.”
Reviewed 16 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Ty Mortimer holiday cottage is a stunning conversion retaining all the character of a traditional Welsh stone barn. Inside the cottage the timber stair case containing a very interesting newell post leads up to 2 charming good size bedrooms, both with built in wardrobes. We had the double room which had an extremely comfortable bed and luxurious bed linen, gold bed cover and gold cushions. The colour scheme went well with the quaint little red painted windows overlooking the farm. The situation of the cottage was perfect as you can walk out of the cottage and join the coastal path within minutes. St David's is only a 10 minute drive and the boat station to Ramsey Island about 5 minutes. We had a very friendly welcome from Eleri and Rob with a welcome pack containing a bottle of wine! They even laid on the sunshine for us so we could enjoy the wine, sitting in the back garden watching the sun set. Thank you! We will be back!
