“Great place to visit”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Visited here after going into the Cathedral next door, their history is so linked that you can't visit one without going to the other. There are information boards throughout the site with audio commentary in either Welsh or English.

The views from the firt floor rooms towards the cathedral are worth seeing - and if you struggle with stairs there is an accessible lift. There is not only a tower but also several rooms in the cellar under the main part of the house which you can walk through giving a real feel for what life was like for the servants working in them with little light and narrow stairs.

Overall a good place to explore and don't forget to look out for the gargoyles whilst there.

“Worth paying to go in”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

We weren't sure whether to go in, but so glad we did. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and our daughter really enjoyed doing the quest. It's a great place for kids (and adults) to explore. Staff in shop very friendly.

“Great place with lots to explore!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

We had a beautiful day to visit here. Lovely helpful lady in the shop. Our 8 year old had much fun doing the hunt & quiz which took a while to complete but we got there in the end. Amazing building with cellars & narrow little stairs, it's like a maze! A children's dream to explore! Beautiful setting next to the Cathedral. Highly recommended

“Family & dog friendly attraction!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

Parking was 70 pence for two hours, slight climb up a hill from car park to narrow pedestrian lane (narrow road from car park & no path)
The venue accepted dogs on leads, which is fantastic for us because we can all go in.
Lovely ruins and plenty of steps to climb.
Shame no entertainment/colouring theme based on the venue for kids being May half term holiday.
For the less mobile people there is a lift up to first floor but you have to get a key from the shop at the start (I didn't bother)
Loved the cellars and passage ways to explore on the ground level.
Allow a couple of hours, not a full day attraction - however you could go to the Cathedral at extra cost of suggested £3.00 each. We didn't bother because of money having paid for this lovely ruins, just couldn't see the point of extra outlay. Superb cathedral to look at outside from the Bishops ruins and looking from the pedestrian path.
So clean & litter free around St Davids, Wales is such a beautiful tidy, amazing place - have enjoyed greatly.

“Lots to discover.”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

We spent a good couple of hours exploring the Bishops Palace and really enjoyed the experience. It is still in quite good condition and you could really get a good idea of what the layout was and how it all operated in the day. It is well worth the small entry charge.
