We stayed here for 4 wonderful nights . As you walk into the hall ,you step back in time and pace. The coat rack on the wall , the dining room grandfather clock to the right ,the cupboard next to the stairs ,the low windows, all speak of a time when a local farmer or store keeper and family lied here ,50 or so years ago. The kitchen is beautiful, contemporary ,bright but still with character, as is the lovely bathroom , with a nice deep bath for soaking away a long country walk. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable, with attractive furniture of the time. Even the small bedroom has its beauty, sweet, cozy a delight for child or single adult. back downstairs is a traditional dining room (where the grandfather clock lives ) and sitting room ,comfortable and cozy with charm. Heating is via storage heaters which are more than adequate and easy to use. Through the sitting room you step down to the kitchen, through the back door into a delightful lawned garden with no solid boundary at the bottom , allowing uninterrupted views across the fields and hills . I became accustomed to a morning walk down with my cuppa to say hello to the cows :) . At night without light pollution the sky lit up with stars. Back through the front door it is a short stroll over the road and down the lane to the rocky coast and sea views. Parking is out the front and we never had any trouble parking. There is a lovely pub, cafe and craft store, bus route ,and its approximately 8 miles to St Davids and Fishguard respectively. The owners have provided a bountiful supply of local information and numbers for all manner of places to visit and transport. They have also provided a nice selection of dvds, books and games.
A beautiful terraced cottage ,cozy in its comfort , with all the necessities one could need .There is no wifi/sky/virgin BUT if like us you came to relax unwind and get away from the madness, you will appreciate that fact :) and anyway most of us have mobile phones with wifi.
This really is a lovely relaxing place to stay, and the owners should be proud of themselves.
The cottage is situated in a small village with easy parking outside. It is well furnished and comfortable with all mod cons. The garden is lovely with a view of the countryside at the bottom of it, plus the cows come up to say hello from the field below. There are local walks near the sea and a cozy pub and craft/coffee shop less than 2 mins away. The kitchen is modern and contains all the utils you would need to prepare meals. We look forward to staying here again whatever the season.
We have stayed at many locations in Pembrokeshire over the years, but this was our first time at Trefin.
The cottage was very well equiped, comfortable, clean and tidy, and suited our requirements well.
The village has a good pub, which was only a couple of minutes away from the cottage, serving excellent real ale, and good food. The Mill cafe and gallery was also close by, and well worth a visit.
We found the location was excellent for walking, and access to the coast path was very close. Overall, we were very happy with our stay at Brynteg, and wouldn't hesitate to book it again.
We had a wonderful week at this typical Welsh cottage. The home was warm when we arrived it was clean and comfortable, with excellent facilities.
One previous young visitor, thought she discovered a goat (ghost) ,..we enjoyed that very much.
This cottage is equipped with just about everything you might need. Small laminated instructions have been strategically placed so you don't have to plough through a file looking for how to heat the water, use the microwave or shower etc. Despite the notices above the doors saying 'mind your head', my 6ft tall husband cracked his head every day, so be warned! We were cosy & comfortable & it was a great base from which to walk along the Pembrokeshire coastal path - the views were stunning!
Very impressed with the cottage and all the information David sent before our holiday was really useful. Would definitely recommend it. Lovely part of the country.
Really enjoyed staying at the cottage. It's close enough to the coast to go for some epic walks!
There were 5 of us staying and all of us hit our heads at some point during the weekend, a small price to pay for a great weekend away from the huddle and bustle.
