“A hidden gem.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2013

One of the highlights of our trip through the UK was our stay at the Keepers Cottage in Laugharne. Off the beaten track this charming, modern, clean quiet B&B in a quite corner of Wales should be on everybodys list to visit. Rose and Marj. run a beautiful house. It is clean, quiet and the breakfast is fresh and well served with plenty to eat. Laugharne itself is also a treasure with the castle and a couple of great places to eat. Try the Italian restaurant near the square, the food is cheap and superb.

Room Tip: They are all good.

I regularly stay away from home on business trips and found this lovely place in Feb this year. Keepers Cottage is honestly one of the best places I have stayed. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, tidy and tastefully decorated.
On arrival I had a warm welcome from Marj and Rose and asked if I wanted fresh milk for tea and coffee.Everything you could need is in your room; tea, coffee, biscuits, sweets...oh and also complimentary bottle of bubbly

The bathroom was like new with complimentory toiletries and other little bits and bobs like cotton buds, etc.,and there was also an iron and hairdryer in the drawer which in some places, you have to ask for.

The view from the bedroom I was in was fab and again from the breakfast room in the morning.
They don't do evening meals so they have put a folder in the bedroom with details and menu's from all the local eating places that do good food - choose from pub meals, Italian, Indian, fish and chips etc.,
I opted for an Indian which was a 5 minute drive to St Clears and I wasn't dissapointed.
I had a good nights sleep and the breakfast was freshly cooked exactly how I like it.

I could not fault Keepers Cottage. Marj and Rose do a splendid job and I hope to be back very soon!

Rose and Marge are excellent hosts, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The house is spotless and you will want for nothing. Great surroundings and very close to the village centre. A really good spot to base yourself to discover so much of the very scenic South Coast. Trty to make it to the attractive village of Lawrenny and the excellent Cafe where the two rivers meet.

I agree with most reviews here, but here is our review based on our experience. We were in a room on the first floor with great views. Unfortunatley the walls had very poor noise insulation and the residents in the next room drove us to distraction! We heard them on their mobile phone(the entire conversations) the television and and any conversations they chose to have. In fact any noises they chose to make. Our room had restricted height, and try as you may, you will bash your head. Men will have to sit on the toilet as standing is not possible. At breakfast we asked for poached eggs which were not poached but hard boiled. The walk to Laugherne village is very dangerous. Because of this we felt the price was poor value. Having said that it does seem to be the average in Laugharne. Value or not!

We are very disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay at keepers cottage,it is a great pity that you did not mention any of these issues while you were here as we would have gone out of our way to make things right for you,as you can see by all the other reviews,we do care about our guests and do our best for them and thats why so many keep returning time and time again And as far as the road into laugharne very sorry but we would have been unable to help you out with that problem.

We were made to feel very welcome & the accommodation was spotlessly clean. It felt like 'home from home'. It's a great place to base yourselves. We stayed 4 nights & went to the Gower, the National Botanical gardens & Saundersfoot & Tenby. A lot of variety right on your doorstep! Laugharne is a quaint little village & all the locals were very friendly. The castle & coastal walk to see Dylan Thomas's boathouse is a must! There are plenty of nearby restaurants - we enjoyed all our evening meals. You can't go wrong staying here.

Very friendly and welcoming. Spotlessly clean and brilliant catering.
We stayed three nights and despite the torrential rain had a really good time.
The room was well equipped with hair dryer and an iron and even a small bottle of wine on arrival!
