Called in on the off-chance for a meal with the family - never been here before, but was very pleasantly surprised. The service and the food was excellent. I couldn't decide whether to have a meal off the main menu (vast choice) or from the light bites menu. I am glad I choose the later as my daughter had gammon from the former and it was vast. I would thoroughly recommend this place and if there is one thing wrong it would have nice to have a salad choice

Called in Easter Sunday for evening meal around 7.30 ish only ONE table occupied. Asked if we could sit on a table for 4 in secluded corner, request refused on the assumtion that they may need the table if others arrived. There were 4 tables for 4, 3 for 6, 1 for 8 and 2 for 2. by the time we left at 8.20pm one couple had arrived and that was it. Will not be on my return list, and PLASTIC table cloths UUUGH!!!!

Visited on the offchance for Sunday lunch (carvery). Didn't have a reservation but we were early so managed to get a table. Staff really friendly, food was lovely, 2 courses, very reasonably priced - great roast dinner! Pub decor is a bit dated and old fashioned but can honestly say the food was great and if I'm in the area again I'll be back for another sunday lunch.

Been here lots of times to eat and my husband and I keep coming back for the delicious and well presented meals each time we stay in Laugharne. Stan, Babs and staff at The Carpenters Arms do a marvellous job of making everyone feel welcome. I highly recommend a visit and believe you will not be disappointed.

Called here for lunch on the off chance. Clean, cosy and welcoming. Service was prompt and efficient. Food was basic (as we ordered) but exceptionally well cooked. Price was very reasonable would definitely call again and recommend. Thanks.

Stayed in the Carpenters Arms in October, as was attending a wedding in Broadway Country House. It's walking distance, but not safe to walk along the carriageway at night.

Booked several rooms in advance without any problems. Arrived on the day, welcomed by the manager who guided us to our room. The rooms are above & behind the pub itself. The rooms have obviously undergone a recent facelift, and were clean & tidy. Fresh towel bundle & the usual tea/coffee facilities. We had a room which had disabled shower facilities, which we didn't need, but would be useful for elderly/disabled guests.

As we stayed over on a Saturday night, there were limited breakfast hours - 08:00 - 09:00am, due to the pub needing to get ready for Sunday dinners. We needed to get up & out early anyway, but a bit early for those who may want a Sunday lie in. Breakfast was great, with hot & cold selection available & cooked fresh.

As it was an all day wedding, we didn't actually see the pub open.

Slight down points:
1. The room we had was based in the corner of the building, and so the bathroom had a sloping roof. I'm 6'3, and found it very small, particularly around the toilet.
2. Walls seem quite thin. Could hear every toilets flushing throughout the night.

They are only 2 minor points, and that's what knocked it to 4 out of 5.

If we didn't have to go home the following day, I would have been happy to spend another night there, sightseeing during the day & residing in the bar at night.
