The Corran is a real hidden gem in Wales. We travelled to West Wales for a quality break, avoiding the usual city hotels, and I am delighted to report that all was excellent.
The staff were very helpful, the food was genius and the location is perfect.

Spur of the moment decision to pop over to The Coran for food on Friday evening and what a delight. The warmest welcome from the staff and fine food at it's very best. Beef and Sea Bass to die for, cooked to perfection with the most exquisite accompaniments. And then there was desert....say no more! I will be back again as soon as time allows. Thank you for a lovely evening.

My wife and I stayed in one of the suites in the great barn over Easter. It's not necessarily the easiest of places to find, West of Laugharne, but there are signposts and the rural location factors into the charm of the hotel. The characterful suites are as good as in the pictures, with some design quirks that add to the occasion. Be sure to book the restaurant as it is renowned locally. We were late booking and it was full. We ate out in Laugharne, so only used the restaurant for breakfast- the Welsh breakfast was delicious. We used the small pool and spa, the massage was first class. Like the rest of the hotel, it was quiet and peaceful and the atmosphere of the place is one of serenity, devoid of noise and light pollution. This is a superb place to recharge the batteries. The staff are helpful and cheerful. We even got a free lift to and from Laugharne with the hotel minibus- seemingly nothing was too much trouble. Being ultra pernickety, it would have been nice to have local bottled water in the room and a main switch that would turn off all lights (there are plently of lamps). Neither matter though, when the quality of the product and service is this high. We'd love to return. A tip- Look out for deals on secret escapes!

Room Tip: No rooms- all are suites- each unique and superb.

We stayed at the Corran for two nights a couple of weeks ago, as our son was having his wedding reception there. The venue is stunning with fantastic views and very rural and quiet. The rooms are stunning with a large and extremely comfortable bed with soft pillows and duvet. We used the swimming pool and spa, all of which we're clean and had wonderful changing area with soft fluffy towels. The food at the wedding was fabulous, we had lamb as our main course, which I had not been looking forward to, as I am not a huge fan of it, however it was outstanding, as was the trio of deserts, apple crumble, Eton mess and a brownie. My only complaint would be the lack of bar staff, only one or two behind the bar and getting served was quite a challenge. Best rose wine I have ever tasted, so worth the wait. Again at breakfast there was a lack of staff, and we had to request toast and further supplies of fruit, milk and cold meats on the buffet counter. The cooked breakfast was good. Although there didn't seem to be a plentiful supply if staff, they did work hard and did get us everything we asked for. I would recommend this hotel as it is an amazing place but would suggest that they need to look at their staffing needs.

The Corran is superb! The setting is unbelievable, the suites are faultless. This is a more than perfect romantic retreat. We used the gym and swimming pool over Easter weekend early morning and had it all to ourselves it was amazing.
Staff here are exceptional. The whole experience was great. If I could fault anything it was the food. The first day I ordered a 'welsh breakfast' but it came without laver bread! The second day I ordered Haddock. This was quite dry and tasteless and I had to ask for butter to make the accompanying toast edible. My partner ordered eggs benidict but the sauce 'drowned' any taste. On our second night we ate in the restaurant. We didn't order a starter as the only one we both fancied was scallops but at £9.50 they just weren't worth it. My lamb main was ok but not outstanding. I rarely order dessert but love creme brulee but again this was very disappointing - it tasted more like a creme caramel. Great place but food let's it down Sorry
