“Birthday Walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2013

There is an excellent walk up St John's hiil that is signposted as the Dylan Thomas Birthday walk. It is only a brief walk and provides spectacular views over the Taf estuary. Free car parking is at at the Castle car park but be careful of high tides.

“Do the circular walk around Saltmarsh Farm.”

See the peacock go past the quarry and walk into Broadway then have a refreshing pint at the Carpenters arms and ask the landlord where the best walks are. He is brilliant and we did all of them, you will not be dissapointed.

brilliant walk - although beware of the cows in the top field - fabulous views, worth the walk, lovely mix of open and woodland walking.

“What a great view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2012

If you approach St. John's Hill uphill from Dylan birthday walk you really must look behind you once you've entered the fields for a great view out over the estuary to see the Gower and Worm's Head, and looking ahead of you, you have views of the Preseli Mountains inland.
If you do the whole figure of eight walk described in the 'Weatherman Walking TV series you'll need to allow say 3 hours
