What an eclectic mix in this little tea shop!

There are artists materials for sale, tying in with the range of original art pieces on the walls (also for sale), together with hand made soaps, hand knitted snoods, beautiful arty greetings cards, books, wooden articles, pottery - and lots more I am sure.

Tea is clearly a speciality, deserving it's own menu of loose leaf teas. You can also have freshly made coffee and an enticing range of home-made cakes, the traditional Welsh cakes and bara brith, but also the more imaginative Chocolate and Beetroot and Ginger (iced or un-iced) which we tried - delicious and moist and served on vintage china tea plates.

There isn't a great deal of room for guests, maybe 20-25 covers in all, but you almost feel you are being entertained in someone's home; it is comfortable, grouped in small numbers with different chair styles and there is no pressure to rush, in fact one group behind us seemed to be holding a meeting of sorts.

Would definitely revisit to try out the rest of the menu. Well worth a visit.

Thank you, FiftyFifty5050, for a great review.

There are only 18 covers. We could cram more in but many of our customers just come to browse or buy cards so we have left room for them to move about.

Hope to see you back soon.

I first visited Tower Gallery shortly after the present owners took it over. I travel a great deal in and around the Powys and Shropshire area often on the lookout for good places to have lunch. Having found this venue, I'm always happy to drive a distance out of my way just to enjoy the homemade soup and various types of homemade bread along with delicious toasted sandwiches and usually cake that I take away. They also sell quality affordable gifts and not forgetting the best coffee for miles around - It's a lovely friendly atmosphere and definitely worth a visit!

We asked in the charity shop where you could have a drink and something to eat, they recommended the gallery. We followed the advise and where not disappointed. I had a tasty toasted tea cakes, while my wife had a sandwich. Food was good, staff was friendly and a nice surroundings, what else could you ask for.
