On the Offas Dyke and the standard of accommodation was excellent. Great stay and great food. The rooms have a huge bathroom and staff can't do enough for you. Great family run pub

Felt a little apprehensive when I first saw the Horse and Jockey at the end of a long day on the Offa's Dyke Path but needn't have worried, a lovely conversion job done on the bedrooms, had a double room to my self but space for 2 people might be a little tight with 2 suitcases to unpack and pack, lovely big bathroom . Word of advise for hikers: best not to stay on a Saturday night as live music night in the pub and not much chance of getting asleep until after 1 am but that would be my only quibble and forewarned forb anyone reading this is forearmed. Interwsting twist on the normal pub grub food menu for dinner and a nice breakfast served in the restaurant arera under the bedrooms. Free wi-fi available in the bar area. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again but would avoid a Saturday.

The inn has more historic interest outside than in. The room was updated (but you can see the old beams) and had a modern bathroom. They didn't have a double available so we slept in twins. The mattresses were soft, but the bedding was clean and warm. The biggest challenge was that he room was small, and the heat wasn't working properly, so they gave us a space heater which made moving around the room really awkward.

The bathroom was recently renovated, pretty and had a real shower and tub. But there was was not enough shelf space for our toiletries.

The people who run it were very pleasant, helpful and let us check out late. There's a restaurant and pub attached to the inn which made it very convenient for dinner and breakfast. (food and service are both good.)

Overall it made a fine place to stop for one night.

This is a lovely historic inn with interesting rooms in converted stables and outbuildings. We had good pub food and beer.

My friend and I stayed at the Horse and Jockey on our first leg of walking Offa's Dyke. Rooms are at the back of the pub in a converted hayloft and of a higher standard than the usual pub with rooms. Flat screen TV, reasonably comfy beds and an en-suite bathroom contributed to a good night's sleep. We ate in the pub's restaurant and found a very varied menu. The highlight was undoubtedly the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake which was the best I've ever tasted!

This twin room at the top of an external staircase appears to be one of five converted lofts. Good bathroom with fluffy towels, reasonable storage, TV and bedside lights. The breakfast was back downstairs in the restaurant so we were lucky it was a dry day. Very convenient location a short walk from the rail station and handy for Offa's Dyke. All in all pretty good with pleasant staff, food cooked to order and tasty.
