“Warm welcome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

Our party of six arrived here on foot at the end of an extremely wet day - Welsh weather at its best. John and Maya were not at all fazed by our dripping on their carpets but welcomed us in and sorted us out so that we were shortly sitting down to homemade cakes and tea in their extremely warm and comfortable snug. Shown to our excellently appointed rooms we were able to shower and then in the evening sit down to a wonderful meal. We had pre-selected our meal but the range of choice had made it very difficult to narrow it down - they all sounded so appealing! There was a superb choice for vegetarians and Maya had made it clear that she would cater for any special dietary needs. Overnight they did their best to dry out our sodden gear and were just so keen to try and do their best to help us - even showing us on the map a boggy bit to be avoided on the next leg of our walk. Our breakfast was equally as good as the dinner - quality ingredients with excellent choice - my smoked salmon & scrambled egg was perfect. Cannot recommend them highly enough

I wish there was a higher score than excellent for "sleep quality" because it was truly blissful to stay at Bron y Llys -- so quiet and relaxing. I stayed in the Hafen room which had a very comfy bed and views of the lovely garden. The food was restaurant quality in the evenings and very filling breakfasts. The property is set in an amazing setting in the hills, and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area including Aberdovey. On the way back we went through Elan Valley which was stunning. Maya and John have created a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and I would recommend staying at Bron y Llys and exploring this beautiful area of Wales.

Room Tip: I had a choice of the three rooms and it was very difficult as they all have their own special quali...

Bron y Llys is a perfect gem of a B&B. We found the room and en suite very clean and very comfortable, the food was excellent but the calm and relaxing atmosphere was all down to Maya and John. Two very special people who have the perfect knack of knowing and providing just what you need without fuss.
We stayed with them for four nights and beforehand I was unsure just how they would cope with the opposing needs of a mad keen cyclist and a mad keen stitcher. They coped perfectly. I need not have worried about being 'in the way' all day because they provided an oasis of calm. I felt completely at home stitching away in the beautiful light of the conservatory dining room while my husband pedalled his way around the area. We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We stayed in perfect luxury in Skylark room with dual aspects

Maya and John very kindly allowed my husband and I to camp in their garden,at short notice, as we were supporting Lynne Allbutt on her Barefoot Run across Wales. She stayed in the house and reported back that her room was lovely.. The property is wonderfully inviting, spotlessly clean and has a fabulously welcoming atmosphere. Lynne was running late literally and Maya had prepared a delicious meal for us which we wolfed down. To stay on schedule we requested breakfast at an ungodly hour and it was of exceptional quality, with a wide choice for Vegetarians as well.
John and Maya are very special people and I highly recommend Bron y Llys. I would love to return and stay there in a bedroom! For walkers the property is very close to Glyndwrs Way, so an excellent stop off point.

We just stayed with 3 families in the Bron y Llys and had an outstanding experience in this wonderful b&b. Maya's and John's hospitality is unsurpassed, the rooms are perfectly clean and cosy and even the log cabin is a very enjoyable place. The whole house is a heaven of cosiness and comfort and makes you feel at home. Maya's cooking is world class: we were 14 people for dinner and had a delicious meal including Welsh trouts and a freshly baked Lasagne. The breakfast was almost a brunch including fresh juice, fruit, pancakes, homemade bread etc. Last but not least Maya provided us with a wonderful picnic for the next hiking leg of the Glyndwr Way.
John was extremely helpful in giving us advice re the surrounding neighborhood and our further hiking.
In a nutshell: the best b&b we ever stayed in, highly recommendable!

Every moment of our six-day stay in Bron y Llys was a delight. From the beautifully furnished rooms to the sumptuous meals, we were treated to luxury and made to feel very special. Nothing was too much trouble, and John & Maya were the epitome of kindness. Our young children are a delight, but they're also a force majeure; they enjoyed our stay just as much as we did, and as we were driving home our six-year-old son remarked, 'Daddy, when we come back to John & Maya's, can we stay for longer?' Add the wild brown hare and her three tiny leverets in the garden (clearly visible from the dining room at dusk), and it made for a memorable and truly wonderful week.

We stayed for one night while walking Glyndwr's Way. We received a very warm welcome including tea and homemade cakes. Our room was spotless and furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The whole house was fresh and well maintained; the conservatory was a delightful place to eat. Dinner, breakfast and packed lunch were all delicious. The house is in a great location as a base for exploring the area, especially the wonderful moorlands right on the doorstep.
