We have a holiday home not far from Llanfyllin and came across this restaurant. It has soon turned into a family favourite if we want to go somewhere special.
All the food is cooked to perfection, the owners are so welcoming and will go the extra mile to make your visit perfect.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area, the fillet steak and the treacle tart are the best!

Warm and welcoming but mostly empty on Valentine's Saturday.
Food was OK-ish - the chef can clearly cook meat to a high standard, but veggies were boring and over-cooked. Starters were heavy on leaf and light on the main ingredients.
Desserts were not good - especially the custard which was lumpy - seemed to be made from custard powder, a bit of a surprise in this day and age. Creme brulee was really scarambled egg.
Rather frighteningly, this is one of the better restaurants in Mid-Wales.

Warm and welcoming on a cold and rainy night in North Wales - was so good we returned the next evening. Small intimate and cosy in a beautiful old building filled with collected treasures from travels abroad. Serving lovingly prepared homely food using local ingredients. Three courses for a reasonable £25 which the treacle tart alone justified.
