“Lovely Weekend Away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2010

Having stayed here before when visiting the WRC I thought it would be a nice place to take the wife so I booked.

The owners are really friendly people who make sure they can do all they can to make your stay a memorable one from offering loads of local information to offering their maps for us to use.

The hotel itself is located in a really nice village with a friendly village pub within short walking distance which serves nice food and nice local beer but make sure you are there before 8:15pm if you want to order food.

The room was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean and so was the en-suite shower room. The bed in room 4 is massive and soooo comfortable, wish I could have taken it home with me. Breakfast is included in the price and Simon cooks a mean sausage! There is loads of breakfast fare, fresh fruit, cereals, toast, coffee, tea and of course a lovely full cooked English which is all cooked fresh, you can tell its not been stuck under a hotplate for ages.

The lounge is a nice room to spend a quiet evening, there is an honesty bar with lots of choice.

We will certainly go back, the scenery around the hotel is really nice, a photographers paradise and the hotel gardens are certainly worth a wander around, its gorgeous.

Well worth a visit for a weekend or longer as there is lots to see and do.

Thanks for a fantastic weekend!

The hotel was recommended to us by friends. We received a very warm welcome on arrival; the owners have really managed to strike the right balance between a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and while delivering a great level of service. The hotel is very clean and well-kept. Our room was well-presented with an almost boutique feel to the furnishings. The bathroom contained a delightful roll-top victorian bath.

Modern TV and wi-fi available in the rooms.

The food was extremely good, with a well stocked bar and wine list. The owners were also very happy to recommend other places to eat locally. The village pub does a wide range of food.

The village and surrounding area is very pretty with lots of opportunities for walking.

We found The Cammarch Hotel through a search engine so really had no idea what to expect. It really is a hidden gem - it's traditional market has been fishermen (there's year round fishing). But it has recently got new owners and they have done an incredible job sprucing it up while maintaining the file of a traditional old hotel.

We stayed with our kids in an apartment at the very top of the (huge) building - oh and our puppy. We had two rooms connected via a kitchen. It could not have been better for us.

Downstairs is a sitting room and conservatory restaurant. The food really is delicious. We only had breakfast but that was really really yummy. Perfect before a day exploring the magnificent countryside.

Outside there's a huge garden bordering a river on two sides. There's a peacock, two goats and countless chickens. The views from the rooms are wonderful.

We were beautifully cared for and The Cammarch just has that special feel about it. well done to them - it will be a big success.
