“Excellent hacking for the experienced rider with capable horses”
Reviewed 12 April 2012

I have been to the centre on numerous occasions to go on the half a day hack for advanced riders. The horses are always fit, capable and forward going. They have an excellent variety of sizes and temperaments to suit individual riders. If the ground allows, there is plenty of safe, fast riding. The views are fantastic and the staff are friendly ans helpful. It is excellent value for money.

“A great afternoon out”
Reviewed 17 March 2012

As a special treat I took my teenage son and a friend for an afternoon in the indoor climbing centre.
It was relatively quite booking wise so the two boys were lucky enough to have a fantastic instructor all to themselves and had a go at everything, climbing walls, abseiling, high ropes and an indoor zip wire. The facility is large and impressive with a range of different walls and challenges.
The instuctor was fantastic with the boys, giving them clear advice and lots of encouragement to complete each task.
I made myself comfortable either watching them or having a spot of lunch in the new cafe which had a very welcome fire on a miserable afternoon.
The boys loved it and are keen to return again in the summer to have a go at the outdoor climbing section - excellent value for money.

“Nice location and activities”
Reviewed 29 October 2011

A good place to try different activities it has the best climbing wall in Wales, the staff are very helpfully and good with children. It is good as a one off activity for children and good for camping in the national park.

“Dont Bother”
Reviewed 26 September 2011

We had booked a half days riding at Llangorse 4 days in advance and when we arrived we were greeted in the reception by a disgusting overpowering smell, I appreciate the fact we are on a farm but a airfreshener wouldnt go a miss and few windows could be opened. When we booked to go riding we were expexcting to do walk , trot and cantering as we are riders then to be told on the day we would be only walking and trotting, disappointed to say the least but we had already paid and travelled over 50 miles to get there so we thought we'd give it a go. We were advised to be there by 1pm and were then told we had half an hour to wait and to visit the new cafe that hadn't long been open. We got to the cafe to be greeted by miserable but busy staff, asked for two sandwiches on the menu board but they didnt have any on the list and no offer to make one so we left. I had a hot chocolate which just tasted of water and to top it off there were no seats to sit down so we had to stand! A few people commented on how much of a shambles the cafe was! We then went back to the reception and had to wait a further 15 minutes to be taken down to the horses where the staff were still takking up. We were all given a horse and demonstration but the guides forgot who they had given horses to and what horse! The guide then said said it was due to late bookings? Finally we set off and spent the whole to hours walking around fields no trotting what so ever. I was very disappointed with the whole day, found everything very badly managed and very very disorganised and will not be returning again.

“Disappointing - could have potentially been far better”
Reviewed 2 August 2011

We undertook the Sky Trek course at Llangorse with high expectations from their fantastic website. Having visited many of the 'Go Ape' courses we were expecting something of a similar standard - if not better. We were very disappointed. You are led around the course with two guides who connect and disconnect you at each stage. Everyone in the group (8 in ours) has to wait at the end of each stage on small platforms before continuing, this becomes quite boring after a while. What also confused us was that on some very low platforms (approx 6ft high) we were strictly made to connect to the cables whilst waiting and yet on one of the ladder climbs of around 15ft we were not protected at all! The braking system used, essential due to the design of the platforms proved troublesome and on a number of occasions left us either dangling short of the platforms or colliding into them depending on the effectiveness of each brake pulley. Those familiar with 'Go Ape' will be familiar with the "1 person on a crossing rule" - no such rule exists here and we were almost catapulted off a rope bridge crossing as the person behind us was encouraged to follow on. Our enjoyment of the Zip wires was overshadowed by the overgrown bushes in very close proximity - in some instances Holly and Thorn bushes; I was dragged through these on four separate wires. If simple gardening is overlooked it leaves some concerns over the attention to detail of the safety systems... This lead us to opt out of the final section (something we've never done elsewhere), a climb up a 60-70ft high pole with what appeared to be a very messy safety system - catching around feet and legs as the others climbed up.

The location of this activity is fantastic, and has the potential of being so much better if some simple changes were made. However the current experience at £25 for the "complicated" course does not stack up against the slightly higher price of £30 "elsewhere", where you are allowed and are able to enjoy it.
