This was our second visit to the cottage after staying once before when running the Lake Vyrnwy half marathon. The cottage is well equipped for a comfortable stay - a real home-from-home. There is a lovely little woodburner which keeps things cosy on cold nights (yes, we had some cold nights, even in May!). This time around, we used the place as a base for walking trips to the Arans and Snowdonia, cycling the notorious climb of Bwlch y Groes and even made it to the coast at Barmouth - an hour away but through some stunning scenery. We also visited the hide at Lake Vyrnwy (about a mile away) and spotted osprey amongst many other birds.
Everything in the cottage was clean and tidy and the beds are nice and comfortable. We are planning to make this our annual retreat!!

I would highly recommend this place. Clean, newly decorated, very homely. The house is opposite a river and 5 minutes walk to sculpture park with veiw to the dam on the lake. Very quiet and peaceful place with amazing surrandings. There are few cafe shops surving hot food. You can use their wifi(our phones had no service). The owner and neighbours were lovely and very helpful. Im definitly going there again. Such a nice place so different to birmingham.
