We had a lovely stay here except for the room. We had a premium room and when we turned the light off at night we could see the neighbouring room's lights shining though where the panel in-fills meet the oak beams. Also we could hear the people next door very clearly.
Despite this we did sleep very well and loved the atmosphere of the place. The menu in the restaurant is excellent but sadly some of the dishes don't quite live up to the promise however the friendliness of the staff more than makes up for this.

We stayed at the Briggands Inn when we went to a mountain bike event in Machynlleth (its quite far out from there so you'll need a car) and had a really lovely time. We wanted to take our dog and she was welcomed with open arms in all areas of the hotel which was really lovely.

There were a few little hiccups along the way (ever heard of a hotel only serving starters for dinner?) but Dawn & the team are really fantatstic and to be honest it only added to the charm of the place. The walls are thin, granted, and we had a very loud snorer in a room nearby but if you aren't an overly light sleeper and are looking for a lovely little base, with hearty dinners, good breakfasts, quaint rooms (we stayed in room 5) and that allows well behaved dogs then don't look any further.

Room Tip: Check Laterooms - it was cheaper than direct!

This is a lovely looking hotel and the food was great. Extensive menu and very good service. The room was lovely and very well appointed but I had a poor night's sleep due to being disturbed by a child having a very long temper tantrum next door, not the hotel's fault the child was having a tantrum granted, but due to the thin walls, it sounded as though he was in my room! I think a little more should be spent on insulation to ensure comfort for all guests. I think if you stay in a pub you expect some noise from downstairs but should not be able to hear noise from next door room!

I particularly liked the fillet steak, with a scallop/white pudding starter, excellent value. great breakfasts, excellent smoked haddock and eggs, and the lovely Mary. we stayed in room 9, I think, very comfortable and rustically furnished. The wall to the next room was a little too thin for privacy, perhaps they could do something about this and make it totally excellent.
good central location giving access to Aberystwyth and Snowdonia. and check out the little church just down the road.

was invited to a 50th party being held here so decided to make a weekend of it. On arrival, first impressions were very good. Staff were extremely polite and friendly and made us feel at ease when having a drink with the locals. Unfortunately we didn't eat off the menu due to a buffet provided at the party, however, the menu (and the food being served) looked very tempting and if the quality of the buffet was anything to go by then it was of a very high standard. The bedroom we had was lovely, nicely decorated and the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in on my many travels. We were greeted for breakfast by a very smiley waitress who couldn't do enough for us. Overall... very clean, comfortable and friendly hotel which I would definately stay in again and also recommend to others. Oh, and the 2 little corgi dogs are very friendly and gorgeous....

On a short family break with 2 teenagers, we stayed at the Brigands Inn for 2 nights.
The rooms where really comfortable, and the room maid (who also served breakfast) was charming, and made us really feel at home.
The menu was excellent, with an extremely wide selection from the specials board.
During our tsay, we had fillet steak, sea bass, carpaccio of beef, scallops and other varied dishes. All of them were well prepared, and reasonably priced.
Although the overall room cost is higher than many in the area, the extra seemed worth it.
A most enjoyable stay, with pleasant staff that were friendly and helpful.
The location was convenient for our requirements with easy access to both the coast and the mountains.
I would recommend this Inn certainly to adults. There is limited, or no entertainment for younger people, and limited Internet or Mobile access for some networks

We stopped here (my brother and sister- in - law and I) after a day climbing Cadair Idris. to come back and relax in comfortable surroundings (didn't want to get up out of the sofa's) was great, and bathroom facilites very good and clean. This is one of the better B&Bs I have stayed in. Friendly staff always makes a stay more enjoyable and they were all very pleasant and friendly. Menu perhaps a little too busy, but the food was good. We'd definitely book in here again if we come back to do more walking. Also Dawn gave us the LateRooms rates, which made it good value for money.
