“Amazing Break”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

My husband and I spent 3 nights in the Yurt. We had such a wonderful time, such a beautiful, peaceful location. The Yurt is really lovely and cosy, the bed so comfortable.

My husband is a bird watcher and he took nearly 400 pics of birds/wildlife etc around us... We went on a few walks and the views are just breathtaking!

It was so lovely to cook outside, light a little campfire at night with a couple of glasses of wine staring at the stars. (The complimentary bottle of wine was very nice). We lit the fire inside whilst outside and by the time we went to bed it was lovely and toasty inside!!

By the time we left we were so chilled out, it was absolute heaven.

Everything was just perfect.
Peter the owner was a gentleman, so friendly and informative.

We will definately be returning... I can't wait!!!

Loved it. The yurt is beautiful, with everything you could need. Great welcome and all our stuff transported to the yurt. Woodburning stove and campfire to keep us warm. Toasted crumpets on the campfire under the stars. Very comfortable bed, good cooking facilities and camping shower and toilet. Birds everywhere but didn't see another soul in the 3 days we spent there. Can't wait to go back again. Take easy to cook food and plenty of wine so you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. Machynlleth is a great little town with bookshops, antiques, cafes, pubs and lots of shops to mooch. Great Wednesday market too. We included a trip to the Centre for Alternative Technology too which is nearby.

Was the first time that I have camped so didnt know what to expect would I have been converted! The hosts were so friendly and helpful suggesting local walks and places to see. The yurt was spacious and comfortably decorated. The bed was really comfy and it got really warm when we used the
chiminea. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life such a relaxing weekend break!

Just home after an emense three night experience, an absolutely beautiful place that captors all of the fun and mystical enchantment of living in the great outdoors. We, a family of five, 10 mth-9yrs stayed in the yurt, never once heard ' I'm bored' and our apprehension about taking the youngest was soon doused on arrival as the campsite was very well equipped with everything there to make your stay as comfortable and as pleasurable as possible. The toilet feels a bit strange to start of with ESP for the male side ( u will see what I mean when u get there ;) ) , the shower was nice and refreshing as well. The scenery is just stunning and felt completely safe in our surroundings. The night time is the stuff dreams are made of, a nice blazing camp fire, marshmallows a hot choc for the kids and a cheeky vino for the grown ups lots of fun stories and laughter under a magical blanket of stars. Fallen in love with the place, we will be back, thank you Peter and Mary

Want to highly recommend Mid Wales Tipis, we stayed in the yurt which was stunning, cosy and immaculate inside. Everything you could possibly want is to hand. We have stayed in a yurt before and had to bring everything but the kitchen sink with us but the owners have provided so much to make your stay hassle free. There is a picnic bench next to the yurt and a brilliant outdoor kitchen which even inspired my hubby to help out with cooking and washing up as it was such a fantastic experience! There is no parking next to the yurt so you have to walk up a track to reach it ,but your belongings are transported up by Pete who was ever so helpful .If you are looking for a quiet place to get away from it all then this is the place for you!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review - we really appreciate it. We've worked hard to provide everything necessary for a hassle-free break so its great to hear this feedback. We also spent a long time looking at different yurts before acquiring the Mongolian one you stayed in - we think its stunning too!

The two of us are just back from a lovely couple of days experience in the Yurt during which we did little more than read, sunbathe, eat, drink, sleep, and have a play in the boats on the lake :)

The weather was so good that we hardly used the Yurt itself apart from sleeping, but it is incredibly spacious and comfortable, and has everything you could possibly need.. Cooking over the firepit was great fun, and the kitchen area and shower/toilet werer more than adequate for our needs.

Pete & Mary were great hosts, and couldn't have done more to help us and give us whatever information we wanted.

Our only regret was that we didn't take the opportunity to explore the area more by foot. There are footpaths and opportunities all around but a combination an injury and general lethargy caused by the sunshine, made the deck chair (bring your own) more appealing.

I would highly recommend this holiday to anyone wanting (at least) a couple of relaxing days away from it all in beautiful countryside.

We'll be back !

Just got back from a lovely weekend at Mid Wales Tipis and had a fantastic time. The tipi is set in a beautiful location surrounded by fields and lovely scenery. It is fully kitted out with everything that you will need for your time away. Pete and Mary have truly thought of everything to make your experience perfect. Pete met us when we arrived and was so helpful, informative and catered for all of our needs, even making sure that we were topped up with firewood and all the essentials throughout our stay. Even though the site is set away from the 'real' world, it is easy to access local amenities by car. The site also has a small pond and a rowing boat to use which is great fun. I would truly recommend staying here either in the Tipi or the Yurt (which although isn't fully furnished yet still looks great). A great time can be had by all age groups!! Will definitely be returning in the future!
