We stayed here for three nights whilst visiting the Osprey Project. Fabulous food, wonderful proprietors, and a spacious comfortable room. Although it overlooked a busy main road it was quiet at night, would definitely recommend it and use it again.

We secured rooms for our family who came to our daughters wedding nearby.

The one twist was that the family members barely spoke any English.

Not only had Tina and Dave researched the language to create a Polish Translation of the Breakfast menu but they had learned a few words as well.

Anyone who is prepared to go that far clearly not only understands customer service but clearly implements it.

We were delighted to find a quiet (Despite Being close to the road) and well appointed home for our relatives for their stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are well appointed.

Our second birdwatching stay at this amazing B+B. Unbeleivably, it was an even better stay than the last time! Tina and Dave have made this the No 1 Mid Wales B+B. All standards here are the HIGHEST. We would recommend staying at Plas Mawr just for the experience of being totally pampered by people at the top of their game. Some fool forgot to order packed lunches, no problem, sorted in moments! Should you not be happy about anything at all, just let Tina or Dave know, things get sorted very quickly here. Congratulations on their 2013 award; this was certainly most deserved.

Room Tip: All rooms are perfect

Everything about our stay was excellent. We had a very warm welcome and the room and en-suite were very clean. Tina could not have been more helpful with regards to our stay and suggestions of where to eat in the evenings. Tina and Dave have worked wonders on the house over the years with their renovations. The breakfast was plentiful and tasted superb. The house is just next door to the RSPB reserve of Ynys Hir and the Osprey project that have both featured on Springwatch and Autumnwatch.

Room Tip: If you are in to bird life ask for the room at the back which overlooks Ynys Hir.

Hi Graham & Barbara, I'm glad to note that the efforts we have put into the various renovations have not gone unnoticed. The thing about the wonderful countryside and wildlife in the Dyfi Valley is that it is never the same twice. Already we have the swallows returning, and are looking forward to see if the swifts nest here again this year. Hope to see you again later in the year. Tina & Dave

Plas Mawr is a house full of character which the proprietors have enhanced. With its walls, floors and doors that know not a right angle, it is unique and is a pleasure to be welcomed into.
Tina is lovely and knows what it takes to make her guests feel at home. She is friendly and welcoming and cooks a mean breakfast.
We had a choice of rooms, so flipped a coin and chose the double at the back with the view towards Ynys Hir. It was comfortable and spotlessly clean. You could quite literally eat your dinner off the bathroom floor such was the cleanliness.
No, this isn't 5* hotel, I doubt you would find such an entity in this part of Wales and to be honest, why would you want one when you have what is an extremely good B&B? You cannot ask for anything more in terms of a comfortable bed for the night in a pleasant, clean room in a quirky house with a lovely breakfast waiting for you first thing in a morning.
Very good value for money and very close to the RSPB reserve at Ynys Hir. You're missing a treat if you stay elsewhere in this area.

We have stayed here for years now. Standards are always excellent and the level of comfort and service exceptional! Breakfasts served in a clean, homely setting to fill you before getting out to see the water mill and falls at Furnace - just a 5 minute walk away. If you love nature, this is definitely the place to stay! RSPB Ynys Hir is again a 5 minute walk away and you can also take in the beauty of Artists Valley on foot or by car. You are never too far away from choice and amenities with Borth Aberystwyth and Machynlleth within easy range by car. Dovey Junction railway station is only a 20 minute walk away if you want to abandon the car. Quite simply the best accommodation we have stayed in and you instantly feel part of a home, whilst feeling you are in a luxury hotel! Enjoy :-)

Room Tip: All rooms are well presented, but just chat to the experienced owners and they will help you select...
