Although our stay was a short two nights, it felt like the clock (kindly) stood still for us at The Old Vicarage while we enjoyed the gorgeous gardens, the unparalleled hospitality and conversations with Paul and John, savored the scrumptious breakfasts, and slept in pure comfort. It felt like a world away from busy London and couldn't have been a more pleasant complement to our weekend in Presteigne. We were touched by Paul & John's friendless and devotion to the guests of their exquisite home. I hope it's not long until we can escape to The Old Vicarage again.

We had the opportunity to stay again at the Old Vicarage. Barkey and the Girls (Lillie and Florence?), were a new fabulous addition - 3 of the biggest and friendlies pigs I've ever seen. Also a an apple, berry, and medlar orchard located in paradise!!! John and Paul were their usual charming selves - great hosts!

The hosts Paul and John are the best you could ever wish for, their attention to detail is first class, the hospitality is second to none. The meals prepared by Paul and served by John were Michilan Star Quality, the wine also of very good quality. If you try it you will not be disappointed, in fact you will be looking at when you can return again. All meals freshly cooked by a quality chef (Paul), fresh baked on site bread, the breakfast is to die for , all local produce, even the preserves are made on site by Paul. I could go on and on, all I would say is try it.!!

Room Tip: All five rooms are of the highest standard.

Our second stay at the Old Vicarage and the only criticism I can level is that it was far too long between visits - that of course is wholly our own fault. This time we were a party of six - family & friends, one of whom was celebrating his birthday. John & Paul could not have made us more welcome with tea & cake (including birthday candle!) soon after our arrival. Everything about the Old Vicarage - welcome, service, decor, food, comfort, ambiance - is absolutely first class and it was more like a house party than a hotel. Like some other reviewers the one regret is that one night really is not long enough.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautifully decorated, very comfortable ans quiet

A winter weekend spent in this wonderful Victorian home where the attention to detail is second to none!! A roaring log fire, scones and tea greeted us on our return from walking Offa's Dyke. Paul is a superb chef and uses best quality local produce, the wine cellar has an excellent selection too! Thoroughly enjoyed a restful few days and highly recommend this gem of a place and it's attentive hosts John and Paul.

We stopped off on our way to Anglesey, if only we'd had more time we'd have loved to stay longer. The house has been restored so beautifully, it was faultless, and so clean (I truly believed we were the first occupants of the shower). We stayed as two couples and had the house to ourselves (a mid week off season booking) so the sitting and dining rooms were all ours, we felt as if we were featuring in a period drama. Friendly hosts and good value for money despite being slightly more than the average guest house. It clearly is NOT an average guest house.

Room Tip: before I realised I had clicked on fitness center - I have to let you know that there isn't one...

We stayed at The Old Vicarage a couple of years ago with our friends. The service, decor and food was amazing. It was great to see what a wonderful restoration job the guys have done to the place.

We arrived to afternoon tea and had a wonderful meal cooked in house with exquisite service. Breakfast was another treat.

We spent the day in Ludlow and then went to the nearby Michelin starred pub for evening meal.

In our last morning the guys gave us a tour of the property explaining all the work they had done on it.

I would definitely return here. Great for a chilled out relaxing weekend
