“Just one problem”
Reviewed 30 December 2013 via mobile

We dropped in with our dogs for a drink. They are dog friendly out of food hours. (12.00 - 14.00 and 19.00 - 2100). Great beer and warm welcome. However they need to move their smoking area out of the porch. Many people would find having to squeeze between two lines of very verbal smokers!

“Old historical building and great food”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

Beautiful old building set in a quaint little village. The bar is a lovely place to have pre meal drinks in front of a roaring log fire chatting to the locals. We did not want to leave. We had Sunday lunch which was so tasty and fresh with all of the produce purchased locally. Would love to got back and stay in one of the main hotel rooms for the weekend and explore the local areas.
Very pleased with the service and price of food and drinks. If ever you are passing make a detour as you will not be disappointed

“Christmas party”
Reviewed 8 December 2013

I would like to say that the meal we had on Saturday night was excellent, The chef Marc catered for all the needs of our party, nothing was to much bother to him, and all I done was request what we wanted and he came up with the goods. I would also like to thank Sam and her team of waitresses and bar staff for the excellent service provided. We enjoyed the evening very much.
Thanks again from Presteigne Pacers

“If you like racist sexist conversations this is the place!”
Reviewed 7 December 2013 via mobile

Lovely old hotel, service fine though a little slow as staff are split between the reception and bar - just have to agree with previous review - its not the family friendly establishment it try's to portray on website. The bar flys add colour but it's mainly blue and clearly have no tolerance to children, women or anyone who doesn't subscribe to the daily mail.

“Overpriced and poor quality!”
Reviewed 6 December 2013

We came here for a family meal about a week ago and were disappointed to say the least. The food here is terrible - soggy batter, cremated steaks and lumpy sauces! They charge you michelin star prices so you would expect a reasonably decent meal - how wrong was I! An absolute rip off for the quality of food that is served, we will not be returning.
