Wonderful castle with lots of interest to do with Clive of India and is descendants. The gardens are superb, with the view looking up to the castle from the bottom garden awesome. The italian terraces excellent, a must see building.

This was our third visit to Powis Castle and it just gets better each time. We took two friends with us this time and they both enjoyed the gardens and castle very much. A relaxing day out and the staff made you feel very welcome. Food and drink were the usual high standard at reasonable prices, well done all the staff of Powis Castle. Keep up the good work and we will be back

Went with friends and It was a lovely sunny day. Had lunch and afternoon tea and cake. Castle was interesting and the garden is definitely one to visit as it's so beautiful and one not to miss. We all enjoyed our day out there and bought some goodies back home from there.

“Gardens with views to die for”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

We were lucky enough to have glorious weather on the day we visited so did not go into the Clive Museum or castle but we lingered in the wonderful gardens. There are lots of steps to tackle in the terraced gardens but the views are worth it. On the top terrace you can stand and stare at the gardens laid out below you and then across to the mountains. Down at the bottom you look back up at the gardens with the castle as a backdrop. The gardens are beautifully maintained. We spoke to a gardener who was clearly happy in his work and proud of the results. He told us there are just 7 full time gardeners -and they had just finished trimming all the topiary bushes which had been extremely neatly done. Brilliant!
