“Second time around and ....”

...... even better than I remember it!

The twins were celebrating their 21st whilst there.

Anita was amazing ... and, on realising this was a special occasion, appeared at the back door of The Cottage with a surprise cake for them. The cake was delicious. Thank you. It made a happy evening on the BBQ very special.

Anita's brother told us where to go shopping for the best meats and ingredients for the BBQ. Thanks to him, too for all he did. A fabulous brother and sister team.

We stayed in the same room as before, and it was just as comfy. Even the fact that this place has been "discovered", the people who go are fun, chatty and great to talk to.

Breakfast was just as good. Homemade bread, freshly carved ham, cheese, home-baked croissants, loads of different homemade jams and marmalade, different cereals and Greek yoghurt. Actually, nothing was too much to do. We chose not to have the cooked breakfasts, but walking into the breakfast room means walking past the open-plan kitchen. The smell was fantastic. The kitchen cleaner than mine (that is difficult) and the camaraderie coming out of there is brilliant.

We did have an accident with one of their bowls, and there was not the "sucking of teeth" that you can get at places who are trying to be something they are not, but a genuine concern for the person who broke it - asking if they were ok etc. What a response to damage to their property!

I do not want you all booking this place out so we cannot get in .... but you must visit it. Dogs are very welcome .... it is a working farm, so my cautionary note must be PLEASE keep them under control, pick up after them and just remember that you are representing all dog owners, not just yourselves!

Room Tip: If you have a certain need for a room, do ring them and chat to them. They are extremely approachab...

This place is heavenly: Fantastic attention to detail in every aspect of the rooms, decor and service. Vicci and Mark could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Mark's tour of the farm was a highlight for the kids and breakfast was delicious.
We were going into the Millenium stadium to watch the Olympic football which was an easy journey of around 20 minutes. The taxi cost around £20 each way.
Overall we can't speak highly enough of this peaceful country B+B which would work equally well as a relaxing retreat for a week in the countryside or a base from which to explore Cardiff and the surrounding countryside.

My son and I stayed in gypsy rose carriage which was very cosy. Nothing was too much trouble from our hosts including pots of tea and yummy cakes.

My son really enjoyed the farm tour, collecting eggs and holding a chicken.

We were also supplied with a bbq complete with coals.

There was an excellent choice for breakfast including cooked if required.

All in a very enjoyable stay.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and again it was excellent. There are the small touches here that make it very good from Vicci sending an email very soon after your booking to see whether you would like a cooked breakfast (I would recommend this!) to a text on the day you arrive to check your arrival time so someone is there to greet you and show you round the premises and explain how it works. This is compounded by the offer of tea and coffee and a piece of cake (Again I recommend!). Such a lovely place to go and if we are ever in that area of the world again we will be staying there again.

We first stayed here in Easter and as it was so good we decided to come back. It was just as good as we remembered! This really is a great find and we hope to return again soon.
Thank you Vicci and Mark!

This is England (Wales) at its best. The service was great and a lovely people. There was a slight problem in are room with the water and within seconds they fixed it and the problem was sorted.
If you go on there blog you will see the dinner they provided for us it was amazing.

The bedrooms were amazing we had the Brecon suite with on suite bathroom with bathtub it was lovely and relaxing, a few of are friends stayed in the other suits But the Brecon was the best.
Anyone interested in staying in Wales for the weekend you should come here, the owner and his family was so nice and hospitable they'd properly give you a tour for the day to the best sights.

Room Tip: The Brecon suite
