“Very good hotel!”
Reviewed 6 January 2014

Recently stayed at this premier inn. Overall the hotel is fantastic - very clean and modern. The staff (Richard checked us in) were very friendly and the cleaners did an excellent job.
The restauraunt next to the hotel does good value food. It was a little quiet when we stayed with only a couple of other people dining so no real atmosphere but other than that no complaints.
Location wise the hotel is pretty good. We walked to barry island in less than half an hour and cardiff via train is just over 20 mins. The hotel is also close to bars and restaurants in barry itself.
The only criticism I have is that we were unable to open the window and despite the temp control this sometimes made the room stuffy.

We were visiting family in Barry so it was the first time that we have ever stayed in a Premier Inn, I have to say that this Premier Inn was far superior to a 4 star hotel that we stayed in recently. The rooms are spotless and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast in the Brewers Fayre was very good value as well.

This is the best place we could find when visiting Cardiff. The hotel is still very new, and you can tell this from the fixtures and fittings. It is based on Barry Island, which has its own charm. There is a large Morrisons as well as other shops nearby.
The hotel is served by a Brewers Fayre, which is also new, and the best branch of this franchise I have visited.
The aircon in the rooms needs some work, but apart from that there is little to complain about.
We got our rooms for £29 per night, absolute bargain.

We encountered different staff members on the front desk during our short stay, and every one was friendly and had a mile for us and the children.
They have set the bar high with this hotel, well done!

Room Tip: if you take a family room, choose the top floor (we could hear the children's footsteps)

Xmas eve and xmas day nights i stayed at this premier inn. Richard was on front desk and was very welcoming and very helpful.
Before i had even got to my room i knew it would be a great stay. Room was nice with a nice view over barry island. The only downside i feel was the size of the tv. For a new hotel i would expect bigger tvs. That is the only thing as everything else was perfect. I would 100% stay again.

Stayed here with family and friends in August 2013. Check In was a little slow to start but well managed. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Food place next door was great and great value for money . It's situated right in the middle of Barry Island, we didnt use the car all week- 15 minute walk to the beach and for gavin and stacy fans you can do some of it on foot :) train station has trains to Cardiff and is around 10 minutes walk from the hotel. We walked around the island In the evening , weather was so lovely we felt like we were abroad. Would defiantly recommend.

I stayed in this hotel due to business in Barry; knowing what I know about Barry, I wasn't expecting too much from this hotel. However I was proved wrong. The hotel is conveniently located and very easy to get to. Very helpful and polite staff. The building is not more than a year. The rooms are very clean, although don't expect them to be huge. Definitely worth the price paid. I was bolt there for about 12 hours so didn't stay long enough where I could fault it (apart from it being in Boring Barry :D !)
